HBO’s highly anticipated Harry Potter television series continues to generate excitement. While no official cast announcements have been made, casting calls took place throughout the UK and Ireland this summer.

Slated for a 2026 debut, the ambitious project plans to adapt all seven of J.K. Rowling’s books across seven seasons, extending over a decade. Each actor from the original films, including Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, will be replaced, setting the stage for a completely fresh take on the Wizarding World.

In the meantime, fans have turned their attention to a new Harry Potter venture. The online multiplayer video game “Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions”, launched in September, has confirmed its voice cast on IMDb. A remake of 2003’s “Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup”, this game brings beloved characters to life in animated form.

Notable returning and new voice actors include Luke Youngblood as Lee Jordan, reprising his role from the films, alongside Anna Graves as Rita Skeeter, JB Blanc as Rubeus Hagrid, Monia Ayachi as Fleur Delacour, and David Errigo Jr. as Viktor Krum.

While Kyle McCarley voices Harry Potter and Robbie Kay portrays Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger’s voice actor remains unlisted for reasons unknown.

As speculation about the HBO reboot intensifies, rumors swirl regarding casting decisions. Warner Bros. is reportedly considering Mark Rylance (Ready Player One) for the iconic role of Albus Dumbledore, although no confirmations have surfaced.

Behind the scenes, the series boasts an impressive creative lineup. J.K. Rowling serves as an executive producer, joined by Francesca Gardiner (Succession, His Dark Materials) as showrunner. Mark Mylod (Game of Thrones, The Last of Us) will executive produce and direct several episodes.

Warner Bros. has emphasized that the new series will not replace the original eight films but coexist with them, ensuring the franchise’s legacy remains intact.

As such, iconic Wizarding World attractions, such as the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, Universal Studios’ Wizarding World, and the forthcoming Universal Epic Universe expansions, will continue to feature elements from the film series. These locations, alongside upcoming projects like the Ministry of Magic and 1920s Paris-themed areas, will preserve the magic of the original cinematic experience.

Meanwhile, fans remain divided on the reboot. Some celebrate the opportunity for more inclusive casting and expanded storytelling, while others hold reservations about re-creating such an iconic series.

Whether through the immersive world of “Quidditch Champions” or the upcoming television series, Harry Potter’s enduring appeal shows no signs of waning. Warner Bros. remains committed to offering fans fresh ways to engage with this beloved franchise, and anticipation for casting announcements continues to build.
