
February 1 signifies the first day of Black History Month, and Disney has big plans to celebrate this year. This month, Walt Disney World Resort will embrace the return of Disney’s “Celebrate Soulfully” events. The Celebrate Soulfully event encourages Guests to immerse themselves in music, art, food, and experiences that honor and celebrate Black History Month at Walt Disney World.

This year’s Celebrate Soulfully event is looking to be the best yet. Walt Disney World Resort offers an exciting lineup of new events and experiences this year to celebrate Black History Month.
If you are visiting Walt Disney World Resort during the month of February, there are so many incredible exhibits and shows to see that celebrate Black culture. Head over to EPCOT, where you can meet Kahran and Regis Bethencourt, the creators of CreativeSoul Photography and two of the artists behind this year’s festival. Join them on February 3-5 at The American Adventure pavilion, where they will showcase their reimagined versions of classic Disney Princesses.
If you are looking to hear some fantastic live music during Black History Month, you can see Broadway performers performing during the DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series. This year, Black performers like L. Steven Taylor (The Lion King), Kissy Simmons (The Lion King), and Michael James Scott (Aladdin) will be performing.

Black History Month at Walt Disney World
Head to Disney Springs to view the “Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression.” This month, Ernest Shaw, Nneka Jones, Everett Spruill, and David Anthony Geary will add new additions to the wall. Guests are invited to watch these Black Artists paint live during the month. Disney Springs will also be featuring Black musicians on all three stages every Monday, Tuesday, and Sunday night.
If you are in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park this month, check out the incredible live music by the Tam Tam Drummers and Viva Gaia. Their music will transport you to the Congo and the Caribbean.
The Walt Disney World Resort will also feature more fantastic art, food, music, and character interactions that celebrate Black heritage and Black Culture during this month. Celebrate Soulfully is sure to be an incredible event, one not to be missed if you are heading to one of the Disney Parks in February. The Celebrate Soulfully event is one of the efforts of Disney’s “Reimagine Tomorrow” initiative to promote inclusivity and amplify underrepresented voices.
