It’s no secret Disney Cast Members have to deal with their fair share of less than ideal Guest interactions at the Parks. Whether it be criticism due to unrealistic expectations beyond a Cast Member’s control, entitlement from Passholders, or other gloomy complaints, they have to put up with a lot!
Despite the negative feedback Cast Members receive from time to time, Disney employees have been known to bestow surprising magical moments upon unknowing Guests. We shared a video yesterday of a heartwarming interaction between Sorceror Mickey and a Walt Disney World Resort Guest.
Mickey Mouse went above and beyond expectations by writing a personalized note, taking time to give the Guest a memory they’d never forget. Needless to say, the Disney visitor was overjoyed, exclaiming, “You just made my whole trip!”
With Cast Members giving so much to Disney Guests, people may wonder if there’s anything they can do to give back to deserving Cast Members. Guests may be surprised to learn that, indeed, there is!
The My Disney Experience App provides an outlet for Guests to share their positive Disney experiences at the Parks through a program called Cast Compliments. To access this feature, simply open the My Disney Experience App, and press the three bars on the bottom right of your screen.
From there, scroll down to the Cast Compliment section, adorned with a Disney badge. Once you open it, you’ll be directed to a screen where you can fill out information to honor the particular Cast Member and experience.
The first section asks for specifics about what made your visit so special, providing a list of choices to select from. Then, you are prompted to choose the location where the magical moment took place.
From there, you can type in the Cast Member’s name and hometown, as well as the date of your interaction. That’s it; just press submit, and you’re all done!
Unfortunately, there is no way to credit Disney characters in costume using this method. Still, at least Guests can recognize some of the amazing Cast Members working at Disney Parks. Did you know this existed?
