J.K. Rowling has responded to The Mandalorian (2019) star Pedro Pascal for calling her a “heinous loser” after she celebrated the divisive outcome of the U.K. Supreme Court ruling on biological sex, which sent shockwaves through the trans community earlier this year.
Rowling, who has been incredibly vocal throughout the ongoing trans debate, celebrated the controversial ruling by sharing a provocative selfie aboard a luxury yacht on X (formerly Twitter) beneath the A-Team-inspired caption, “I love it when a plan comes together”:

Unsurprisingly, the tweet received backlash from trans rights activists, including celebrities like Pascal, who described Rowling’s behavior as that of a “heinous loser.”
Recently, Pascal, who has a transgender sister, talked about the issue in an interview with Vanity Fair, where he expressed that he doesn’t regret calling Rowling a “heinous loser” while also referring to the world-famous Harry Potter author as a “bully”.

“The one thing that I would say I agonized over a little bit was just, ‘Am I helping? Am I f***ing helping?’” Pascal said. “It’s a situation that deserves the utmost elegance so that something can actually happen, and people will actually be protected. Listen, I want to protect the people I love. But it goes beyond that. Bullies make me f***ing sick.”
Now, Rowling has clapped back at Pascal on X, saying, “Can’t say I feel very shut down, but keep at it, Pedro. God loves a trier”:

Pedro Pascal Has Become a Global Superstar
Pascal, currently a global sensation, has fast become a household name. After his breakthrough role as bounty hunter Din Djarin in the Star Wars television series, The Mandalorian, he went on to star in HBO’s post-apocalyptic video game adaptation, The Last of Us, and will soon be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025).
He’ll also be returning to Star Wars in next year’s theatrical release, The Mandalorian & Grogu (2026).
As for Rowling, recent weeks have seen her online behavior also criticized by LGBTQ advocate and British icon Sir Stephen Fry, and Lucius Malfoy actor Jason Isaacs. While Isaacs has previously defended her against the online backlash, he recently said he doesn’t “understand who she is on Twitter”.
Rowling is currently an executive producer on the upcoming Harry Potter reboot on HBO.
