Jurassic World Rebirth might have brought in more than $700 million worldwide, but that box office number doesn’t tell the full story. Now, the film is reportedly arriving on digital platforms—but not everyone will be rushing to hit play.
According to When to Stream, the latest Jurassic entry is expected to land on premium video-on-demand this Tuesday, August 5. While Universal Pictures hasn’t made an official announcement, the release lines up with a leaked teaser promoting an “own-or-rent-today” drop, complete with “deleted scenes,” a “gag reel,” and an “alternate opening.”
The teaser hasn’t been distributed by the franchise’s official accounts, but it’s making the rounds on YouTube, with creators like ProC and Swrve sharing the details.

It’s a fast pivot to digital—less than two months after release. While Rebirth has been a financial success, critical and audience reactions have been less generous. As such, the film may not find as much success on streaming as it has in theaters.
Directed by Garth Edwards and scripted by Jurassic Park veteran David Koepp, the film stars Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett, a covert ops agent hired to recover genetic material from an abandoned InGen facility. Once on the island, her team encounters the “Mutadons”—hybrid monsters that take center stage over the franchise’s iconic dinosaurs.
According to the seemingly leaked teaser, one of the deleted scenes features Velociraptors—creatures mostly absent from the final cut. But after weeks of criticism, it’s unclear whether these additions will do much to change audience perception.
A number of fans have already voiced their disappointment online, with some calling for Universal to retool the franchise entirely. Others are skeptical that an alternate opening or behind-the-scenes footage will offer anything new, especially if they walked out of the theater feeling burned.
