It’s only a few weeks before Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) comes stomping into theaters around the world. Starring Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), the seventh film in the long-running series centers on a team of experts sent on a top-secret mission to retrieve life-changing genetic material from three colossal dinosaurs; an expedition that goes south when they find themselves facing horrifying mutants at an abandoned InGen jungle facility.

What the future holds beyond the film remains to be seen. There are whispers of a live-action Jurassic TV series, but for now, all eyes are on Jurassic World Rebirth, as well as two highly anticipated video game projects: the first-person action-adventure “Jurassic Park: Survival” (TBA) and the park management simulation sequel “Jurassic World Evolution 3”.

It also remains to be seen how Jurassic World Rebirth will fare with audiences and critics, who weren’t keen on the last two films, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) and Jurassic World Dominion (2022). Although each one still grossed over $1 billion worldwide.

Dominion, in particular, was torn to shreds due to its lack of focus on the long-promised concept of dinosaurs living among humans. Despite the series committing to this after Fallen Kingdom unleashed several dinosaurs into the North American wilderness, viewers were left scratching their heads when the 2022 film veered off in a completely different direction than was promised (giant super-locusts), while also leaving little explanation as to how dinosaurs had flourished all over the planet in the four years since its predecessor.

That said, it is suggested that many species crossed borders due to the illegal dinosaur black market. Either way, the film fails spectacularly on this front. Instead of exploring in full the concept of dinosaurs in the human world, these aspects are, surprisingly, only teased: during the out-of-place opening and closing montages, and the short-lived dino black market scenes during the sequences in Malta. The rest of the film takes place in another jungle facility.

Fortunately, fans who remain disappointed with Dominion for this reason can still sink their teeth into other Jurassiccontent that focuses on dinosaurs living among humans.

There’s the park management simulation game, “Jurassic World: Evolution 2” (2021), the short film Battle at Big Rock(2019), and all three seasons of the animated series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. There are also the two “Maisie Lockwood Adventures” tie-in novels.

There are also other short films centered around dinosaurs living in our world, as Battle at Big Rock isn’t the only one in the Jurassic franchise. There are others that weren’t publicized in the same way, having instead formed part of a viral marketing campaign designed to promote Jurassic World Dominion in the lead up to its theatrical release.

The Jurassic World films are no stranger to viral marketing. The first film, Jurassic World (2015), had its own website, Masrani Global, where users could learn more about the fictitious corporation as seen in the film.

Fallen Kingdom still has its own website called Dinosaur Protection Group, which is centered around the organization in the film that was set up to protect dinosaurs from extinction. Then, Dominion introduced Dino Tracker, where users can keep tabs on dinosaur populations around the world in “real time.”

Understandably, some fans tend to avoid viral marketing, from fear they’ll stumble upon some spoilers. Others simply don’t have time to peruse a fake website in the run up to the release of the film it’s promoting, no matter how clever and impressive it is, or how it might expand upon the universe established on the big screen.

If you’re one of those people, then you probably missed a series of short Jurassic World films that each show dinosaurs living in the human world, not unlike Battle at Big Rock (although each is a lot shorter than the eight-minute film from Colin Trevorrow).

But rather than spoiling these fun little bite-size flicks for you, you can check them out below, where they’ve all been compiled into a single video, courtesy of the official Jurassic World YouTube channel. Check out the mini Jurassic Worldweb-series below:

This series of Jurassic World clips is short but sweet. Or bittersweet, perhaps. But, like Battle at Big Rock, they prove that a live-action Jurassic World television series could work.

There are currently rumors one is in development, but Universal is yet to confirm anything. For now, we’ll have to wait and see what happens, but we’re sure life will find a way.
