The holiday season is in full swing at the Walt Disney World Resort!
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is underway on select nights in the Magic Kingdom, while the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, including Candlelight Processional, is back, and the Merry Menagerie are entertaining Guests in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

This year, Walt Disney World has a new souvenir that allows Guests to get even more magic out of the holiday season. And no, we aren’t talking about purchasing new Christmas ornaments, though we love those, too!
Disney World is ending the year with new technological advances that are sure to add more convenience and extra special moments to Guests’ vacation experience. The latest tech includes Hey Disney, which recently began testing in Guest rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and MagicBand+, which comes with all-new exclusive enhancements around the theme parks.

The Disney Parks Blog just shared several ways that MagicBand+ can add to the festivities during the holiday season at Walt Disney World. If you haven’t purchased yours yet, this may be the time to do so!
The Disney Fab 50 Character Collection statues found in each of the four Disney Parks are coming to life with new seasonal messages just for Guests wearing a MagicBand+. As Guests complete their quest of spotting each statue, they’ll be able to hear the messages simply by waving their bands.

MagicBand+ can also interact with nighttime spectaculars. During the holiday season, this means your MagicBand+ could give you an enhanced viewing of Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
While not specific to the holiday season, MagicBand+ also has special effects during Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the Beacon of Magic at Spaceship Earth in EPCOT.

Once you purchase your MagicBand+, you can set up a customized light-up theme just to celebrate the most magical time of the year. To add your own theme, open the My Disney Experience app and go to the MagicBand+ section.
From here, you can choose a light-up theme for your band and bring some extra merry flair to your wrist. If you are attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party where you would be wearing your MagicBand anyway, this is a great way to add an extra fun accessory.

If you purchase Memory Maker, you can even pre-pay for all of your Disney vacation photos and download as many as you like for one set rate.
