Mickey and Friends Medals Revealed for Disney World Marathon

Disney is gearing up for the run of the year! Walt Disney World’s 2024  Marathon Weekend is getting updates ahead of the races. runDisney is a totally different way to experience the Parks as you run through the magic of Disney.

Disney’s race “features courses full of character and encouragement as you earn every mile in a weekend filled with four different races, two challenges, and inspiration at every turn,” Disney Parks Blog writes. Walt Disney World offers four marathon options during this January marathon weekend.

2024 Marathon Weekended

Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend countdown has begun. With only 147 days left to go, Disney is releasing new information like brand new 2024 metals. The weekend will commence on January 3 to January 7, 2024. Disney is offering a 5k, 10k, half, and full marathon, and Goofy’s Race and Half Challenge, along with Dopey Challenge and a virtual race option.

Additionally, the celebrated charity for this year’s marathon weekend is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Disney pairs with an organization for each marathon, where donations from registration fees are made on behalf of runDisney.

2024 Medals

For Guests participating in the 5k, their reward has Pluto all over it. Literally! The 2024 medal for 5k features the trusted pal. Guests running the 10k challenge will be rewarded with two besties, Chip ‘n’ Dale, high-fiving on the medal and at the finish line.

Disney World’s Half Marathon will be met with two of Mickey’s Friends, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck. The two are featured on this all-new medal “that will have them quacking a smile.” Go the distance with the full marathon, awarded with the mouse who started it all, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. For those participating in additional races like the Dopey Challenge, no need to worry, of course; you’ll get a brand new medal, too! The Dopey Challenge medal is, of course, only fitting to feature Dopey from Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs (1937).
