Disney World’s Iconic Holiday Event Just Sold Out for the First Time This Year

Special events are back in full swing at the Walt Disney World Resort with many seasonal festivities returning to the Parks and Resorts for the first time since 2019.

This fall, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returned to the Magic Kingdom with the event selling out all dates in advance for the first time ever. With upcoming holiday events including Candlelight Processional and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party around the corner, we decided to take a quick look at what crowds could be like for Guests celebrating the holidays at the Parks.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party runs on select dates from November 8-December 22, 2022 in the Magic Kingdom, with one date recently sold out (despite it being only mid-September, and the date that’s sold out being a weeknight!) The first date to sell out for this year’s event was Thursday, November 10, 2022.

To double check on crowd levels for the first day of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, we also took a look at Disney Park Pass Reservation availability on that date. Thankfully all Parks still have availability for the entire month of November.

Typically the first or second party night sells out first when it comes to seasonal events in the Magic Kingdom, with other nights not selling out until much closer to those dates. While this has been the norm for years, it is not what we saw with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year. As such, if you are planning on attending the Christmas Party, we recommend getting your tickets as soon as possible to avoid being on the wrong side of a sold-out event.

With the full EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, including Candlelight Processional, returning this year, along with greetings from Santa Claus himself, the Merry Menagerie in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and more all returning for the 2022 holiday season, celebrating at Walt Disney World is sure to be a packed experience, so it never hurts to start planning now.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will return this year with Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration Stage Show, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks show, exclusive character meet and greets, merchandise, snacks, complimentary cookies and hot cocoa and more.

As always, we will be back with updates on holiday events at Walt Disney World as we have them here on Disney Tips. In the meantime, visit DisneyWorld.com to grab your tickets to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party before they’re gone!
