Could The Muppets Take Broadway?

When asked about the possibility of a film version of Oh, Mary!, Escola didn’t hesitate to suggest an unexpected choice for the role of Mary Todd Lincoln. In this imaginative casting idea, Escola proposed that the rest of the characters would be played by humans while Miss Piggy would be the starring role, adding a unique dynamic to the film.

Though Escola’s suggestion is humorous and lighthearted, they seemed to enjoy the playful concept, even joking about it further: “Actually, cut this because I’m talking to Disney tomorrow,” they quipped, hinting at the possibility of discussing the idea with the company behind the Muppets.

Amy Poehler, ever the comedian, joined in on the banter, responding, “I hope they have good lawyers because those Muppets don’t know what they’re signing.

A Humerous Possibility

While there has been no official announcement regarding a film adaptation of Oh, Mary!, the conversation on Good Hanghas certainly piqued interest. Fans are now wondering if this humorous suggestion could potentially turn into a larger conversation about a Muppets-centric film adaptation, blending the charm of Oh, Mary! with the whimsicality of the beloved Muppet characters. Whether or not the project sees the light of day, Escola’s comments have certainly given fans something to talk about.
