There is no shortage of themed bars at Disney Parks and Resorts offering exciting experiences to Guests over the age of 21. And one of the most popular bars at both the Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort, Trader Sam’s, is a must-do for fans for both its immersive theming and its delicious cocktails.

One of the highlights of any trip to Trader Sam’s is going home with your very own souvenir tiki mug. The tiki mug craze kicked off when Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar first opened at the Disneyland Hotel in 2011. Tiki mug fever continued when Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto opened at Walt Disney World at the Polynesian Village Resort in 2015, when lots of Guests were attempting to get their hands on the infamous Nautilus.

The popularity of Disney’s souvenir tiki mugs has still yet to slow down, and the newest limited edition mug to join the collection is sure to go to the top of any collector’s list.

The newest mug is a work of art in itself inspired by Monstro, the whale that swallowed Gepetto in Pinocchio (1940). Exclusive to Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Resort, this limited-edition mug is sure to sell out quickly. If you are able to visit the Disneyland Hotel this week, though, we’ve got all the details you need to get your hands on this exclusive Trader Sam’s tiki mug.

The Monstro Tiki Mug debuts this Friday, August 26, 2022, and will be available only through mobile order within the Disneyland app. Disney Parks took to Instagram to confirm that mobile orders for the new mug will begin as early as 6:00 a.m. PT, with Guests being assigned arrival windows to pick up their mugs between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on the same day.

As a limited edition item, Disney is limited each Guests to only two mugs per order. Unfortunately, as we’ve seen with past limited edition (or even just new) souvenirs, Disney resellers have their ways of getting around the rules. As such, we recommend placing your order early and being close to the Disneyland Hotel as it nears your pickup time, just to be safe.

So far, the Monstro Tiki Mug seems to be exclusive to the Disneyland Resort, but there have been past instances where a mug previously released on the West Coast eventually made its way over to Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Walt Disney World.

Disney’s official description of Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar reads:

Many years ago, legendary explorer Trader Sam was bitten by the bartending bug (initially we thought it was just a big mosquito). Ever since then, Sam searches the Amazon, Congo, Mystic Point, Polynesia, and every exotic locale in-between for ingredients to mix into these magical libations.

Sam also picked up many of the trinkets and artifacts you see around you at his namesake bar—souvenirs and gifts from all over the globe.

In the tiki bar business, it’s a real jungle out there, but once Trader Sam began serving refreshing elixirs to explorers and adventurers, the word really spread!

So welcome aboard… ashore… or wherever you are! Cheers! Drink Up! Tulleeho! Kanpai! Prost! Kungaloosh! Ooogy Wawa! And above all, enjoy the time you spend with us at the world‐famous Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar.

We will continue to keep an eye out for any news of new tiki mugs at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. In the meantime, best of luck scoring your Monstro Tiki Mug!
