If you are at EPCOT you’ll probably want to stop by the new Creations Shop. One thing to notice while at the new shop is the Mouse as Muse sculptures. Zach Riddley shared on Instagram a little more about them:

“It has been so wonderful and inspiring to see your reactions to Creations Shop this past week. I spent time over the past few days walking the store, talking to our Cast Members and seeing EPCOT fans take in the space and seek out all the unique EPCOT-themed merchandise! That silver logo hat, am I right!!

 

Today, I’d like to share more details about three more of our “Mouse as Muse” art collection that are now proudly on display in the shop. In order of the photos, here’s what each artist has shared about their inspiration for these one-of-a-kind pieces:

 

First up is a truly stunning, sparkly and detailed confection. This beaded Mickey was created through an intensive (and patient) process, where each piece of sequin, fabric and found object was applied individually by hand with extreme detail to produce this truly one-of-a-kind object. The artist shared that his inspiration is one of hope and inspiration with Mickey as a shiny, shimmering symbol of laughter, love and family. And his belief that the role of an artist is the expression and generation of hope by sharing their work with the world – much like Mickey himself!!

Next is a shiny, silver Mickey that celebrates personal identity and the joy of creation. The artist was inspired by her love of fine art metalworking combined with her long career as a scenic painter working for Disney! Leveraging her skill with brushed metallics, she brings the illusion of cast metal to life.

 

And last today is another metallic expression of Mickey, this time with colors of black and gold. Metallics, glitter and a high-gloss finish were used by this artist to evoke the transformation she feels when we she steps inside a Disney Park or sees Mickey Mouse- with everyday thoughts and stresses washing away to reveal bright, golden hues of happiness.
