My Disney Cruise Line Experience During Covid Part 2: Crew Members

One thing that sets Disney Cruise Line apart from other Cruise Lines is the staff. Their Crew Members are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, and they work so incredibly hard.

One thing that is unique to Disney Cruise Line is the rotational dining team. You will have the same server team your entire stay, and they get to know what food you like and don’t like and get to know you as a person. You truly get attached.

It’s great to hear about their lives as well. We had the most incredible server team on our recent vacation for Star Wars Day at Sea. Our head server was Engelbert, along with Farzan and I Nengah. We’ve had exceptional servers on previous cruises but let me tell you; these guys were more incredible than I could have imagined.

I Nengah would do puzzles that we would have to solve. Very often, they had to do with crayons like this one below. You had to move two crayons to have the horse facing in another direction without “killing his horse.” These guys had us laughing our entire stay. Seeing them each night was truly a highlight.

You also have the same stateroom host your entire stay, and we had Eric. This trip was a gift from and in memory of my grandparents, who passed away last year, so we had magnets with their photos up on the door. He immediately commented and asked to hear more about them. He had the personal touch and made it very special.

At Flo’s V8 Cafe, we met a very special young lady named Nisa. I am vegetarian and have a dairy allergy, and every day she remembered me and would make sure to get a special meal order in. She wasn’t even assigned to us, but her going above and beyond each day made such an impact and made me feel special.

Everywhere you look, you see Crew Members working hard and trying to make your vacation as magical as possible. You are given a comment card at the end of your stay, and Disney takes these very seriously. If someone made your vacation extra special like the Crew Members I mentioned above, put it down so they will get the extra recognition they deserve from Disney.

One thing that we like to do at the end of our stay is leave a note for all the crew members who made an impact. Just telling them how wonderful they are and that you appreciate their hard work means a lot. It is always great to see the look on their face when they see the letter and know that they are appreciated.
