Late nights at Walt Disney World are about to get a little quieter.
For nearly three decades, Jellyrolls has been the go-to spot for guests looking to keep the magic going long after the parks close. A staple of Disney’s BoardWalk, the beloved dueling piano bar has entertained countless visitors with its rollicking singalongs, talented musicians, and raucous atmosphere. But next month, it will play its final note, leaving a major gap in Disney World’s nightlife scene.
Disney World Prepares to Say Goodbye to Jellyrolls
Change is an inevitable part of Disney’s evolution. For more than 50 years, attractions, restaurants, and entire lands have come and gone, making way for the next big thing. But that doesn’t mean losing a fan favorite ever gets easier. From Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride to The Great Movie Ride, Disney World’s history is littered with dearly departed icons, and soon, Jellyrolls will join that list.
The announcement came earlier this year when Jellyrolls’ owner confirmed the bar’s closure, officially set for April 19, 2025. Unlike many Disney establishments, Jellyrolls isn’t operated by the company itself, which means its fate has long been in the hands of a third-party owner. And while there are plans to open a new location in Orlando, it won’t be on Disney property, leaving guests with fewer options for after-hours entertainment.
To give the iconic spot a proper sendoff, Jellyrolls has announced a farewell party set for April 19.
Dubbed the Final Farewell to the BoardWalk Performance, the event will celebrate the bar’s nearly 30-year run with one last night of live music and audience singalongs. Tickets are priced at $22 per person, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and performances beginning at 6:15 p.m. Seating will be first come, first served, and guests will not be allowed to save spots for anyone not already inside. Complimentary parking at the BoardWalk will be available while spaces last.
The Future of the BoardWalk
Jellyrolls isn’t the only BoardWalk staple that has disappeared in recent years. The area has undergone a wave of changes, with several long-standing establishments closing their doors. Last year, Big River Grille & Brewing Works shut down permanently, and before that, Ample Hills Creamery closed following its parent company’s bankruptcy.
Meanwhile, new additions have transformed the BoardWalk’s dining scene. The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers debuted to significant buzz (and controversy over its pricing), joining other recent arrivals like the BoardWalk Deli and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. Over at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, the hotel has also seen a refresh, with updated rooms featuring wood floors and Victorian-style portraits of classic Disney characters.
As for what will replace Jellyrolls, Disney has yet to confirm any details. Rumors have swirled about a jazz bar potentially taking its place, but nothing official has been announced. For now, guests looking for late-night entertainment at Disney World will have to venture beyond the BoardWalk—or make one last visit before Jellyrolls takes its final bow.
Will you be there for Jellyroll’s last night?
