During a visit to Disneyland and Walt Disney World, guests can enjoy a multitude of activities. From classic rides and attractions to world-class dining and live entertainment, guests have a lot to explore both inside and outside of the main theme parks.
Disney’s Magic Kingdom remains the most popular park, understandably so, as it features some of Disney’s most beloved attractions, such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, “it’s a small world”, and Space Mountain.
However, there’s a lot of fun to be had outside of the theme parks. Walt Disney World is also home to a massive outdoor shopping center called Disney Springs. A similar area can be found in Disneyland called Downtown Disney, both offering guests dozens of places to shop, eat, and have fun, either before or after a day at the parks. One area at Downtown Disney is set to receive some upgrades soon.

As revealed by Them Park IQ on Twitter/X, Disney has filed a new permit to remodel the exterior of the LEGO Store at Downtown Disney. The new permit details changes to the outside of the building, specifically the creation of new decorative portals and structural columns. The permit also lists the installation of these new show elements.
Interestingly, the permit calls for the removal of model displays, planters, and guardrails, indicating that some of the impressive LEGO creations that can be seen before entering may be going away for good.

The LEGO Store is just one small part of Disneyland, though it’s certainly one of the most popular. The LEGO brand is known for promoting creativity.
This is hardly the only upgrade coming to Disneyland soon, with the resort set to receive some hefty expansions in the coming years. Most notably, work is expected to begin soon on Disneyland’s version of Pandora – The World of Avatar. Pandora is based on the fictional world seen in James Cameron’s Avatar films, transporting guests into a richly detailed, alien world.
The first version of this land debuted at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2017 and has remained one of the most popular places in Walt Disney World since. It certainly helps that Disney World’s version of Pandora is home to perhaps one of the resort’s best attractions, Avatar Flight of Passage, which offers a blend of Disney’s other popular rides like Star Tours and Soarin’ Around the World.
It’s unclear if Disneyland’s Pandora will feature Flight of Passage or an entirely new attraction. Concept art shared by Disney showed a new take on Pandora compared to the East Coast version, one that seemed to take more inspiration from Avatar: The Way of Water (2022), the second film in the ongoing franchise.
