The next James Bond actor has been revealed in a brand-new video.

007 has officially entered a new era. While all eyes are currently on Amazon MGM Studios’ untitled film reboot, which is being directed by Denis Villeneuve (the Dune films), written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders), and produced by Amy Pascal (Spider-Man: Brand New Day) and David Heyman (the Harry Potter films), the Bond franchise is expanding across all media.

The James Bond Franchise Is Expanding

The past year has seen the release of several new literary titles, including Kim Sherwood’s third Double O novel Hurricane Room, Vaseem Khan’s Q Mysteries debut Quantum of Menace, and Charlie Higson’s King Zero, with more set to follow, such as The Man with the Golden Compass (the second Q Mysteries entry) and M.W. Craven’s James Bond and the Secret Agent Academy.

And let’s not forget this year’s 007 First Light, IO Interactive’s action-adventure video game starring Patrick Gibson (Dexter: Original Sin) as a young James Bond.

007 is also set to make his mark in comic books, with Titan Comics launching Ian Fleming’s James Bond Signature Comic Strip Collection Vol. 1, a new hardcover collecting the character’s original seven newspaper comic-strip adventures, on February 23, 2027, and IDW Publishing releasing a brand-new Bond series titled Sunbreaker from acclaimed writer Grant Morrison.

New 007 Actor Officially Revealed

But the world’s most famous secret agent isn’t just set to dominate movie theaters, gaming, literature, and comic books — he’s also about to embark on a mission in audio storytelling with Young Bond: SilverFin, a new production based on Charlie Higson’s novel SilverFin (2005).

Earlier this year, Big Finish Productions announced that Isaac Rouse (The Crown Season 6) had been cast as the voice of a teenage Bond, alongside Charlotte McBurney as Wilder Lawless.

Now, per Big Finish Productions, several more actors have been confirmed, including Miriam Margolyes (Cleek MacSawney), William Hope (Lord Hellebore), Paterson Joseph (Dr Perseus Friend), Tim McInnerny (Uncle Max), Miranda Raison (Aunt Charmian), Timothy Bentinck (Sergeant White), Lucy Fleming (Madame Ouspenskaya), Harry Marcus (Red Kelly), Christopher Nathan (George Hellebore), and Penelope Rawlins (Alfie Kelly), with Higson himself as Bond’s mentor Michael Merriot.

In addition to the multi-casting announcement, Big Finish has also shared a video titled “James Bond goes to Eton,” in which Isaac Rouse visits the real Eton for a photo shoot. Watch it below:

“It’s a very unique situation; we haven’t seen James Bond on camera in this environment before,” Rouse says.

“I just had the idea: ‘wouldn’t it be fun to take Isaac to Eton and actually shoot him here?'” Robert Valentine, producer and script editor, says, adding, “All his adventures at Eton take place in his first year because at the end of his first year, he’s expelled.”

“On his first day at his new school, James Bond is about to make his very first enemy, and is soon plunged into a deadly adventure that will take him from the playing fields of Eton to the murky waters of Loch Silverfin…,” the synopsis for the upcoming audio drama states, adding, “A monstrous secret lurks beneath its icy surface… a secret that threatens to plunge the world into a new era of warfare.”

Charlie Higson’s 2005 book Young Bond: SilverFin was followed by the sequels Blood Fever, Double or Die, Hurricane Gold, and By Royal Command, all of which were written by the author. The book series later continued under author Steve Cole with Shoot to Kill, Heads You Die, Strike Lightning, and Red Nemesis.

Split across two parts, the audio drama adaptation of Young Bond: SilverFin will consist of 16 half-hour episodes, for approximately eight hours of full-cast audio drama.

The complete story will be released across two box sets and is scheduled to arrive on October 29.

Who Is the New James Bond in Amazon MGM’s Film?

Amazon MGM Studios has yet to announce the next Bond actor for the big screen; however, we’re likely to find out soon, as Amy Pascal has told Deadline that “the end of the year is a good bet.”

Actors such as Jack Lowden (Slow Horses), Jack Barton (Heartstopper), and Jack O’Connell (28 Years Later: The Bone Temple) continue to emerge as top contenders.

The film, which remains untitled, will mark a new era for James Bond, with the new actor effectively replacing Daniel Craig following his five-film tenure, which included Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015), and No Time to Die (2021).
