Since its late-July debut, the fourth entry in Sony and Marvel Studios’ Tom Holland-led Spider-Man series has torn through the $1 billion and $2 billion marks, dethroned Avengers: Endgame on the domestic charts, and — just days ago — passed James Cameron’s Titanic (1997) to reach fourth place among the highest-grossing films of all time.

That milestone didn’t hold for long. The film has now pushed past Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) as well, climbing to a reported $2.337 billion worldwide and claiming the third spot on the all-time list outright. Avatar: The Way of Water, which had held that position with $2.334 billion, has been edged out by a razor-thin margin — underscoring just how quickly Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been adding to its total.

With third place secured, only two films remain ahead of it: Avengers: Endgame (2019) at $2.797 billion and Avatar (2009) at $2.923 billion. Closing that gap would require another significant surge, but given the pace of the film’s run so far, few would rule it out.

The achievement is a landmark moment for Sony and Marvel, reaffirming Spider-Man’s status as one of the most bankable characters in modern cinema. The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Zendaya as MJ, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (the vigilante known as the Punisher), Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk.

Now, new information from the HD Report has revealed when the next Spider-Man release will be. Fans eager to add Spider-Man: Brand New Day to their collections now have a date to mark on their calendars. The film is slated to arrive on physical media — including 4K Blu-ray, standard Blu-ray, and DVD — on November 17, 2026.

A digital release is expected to land well before that. Based on Sony’s typical theatrical-to-home turnaround, industry patterns suggest Spider-Man: Brand New Day could hit digital platforms as early as October 6, though a release no later than October 20 seems more likely given the reported November 17 disc date.

For collectors, the physical release comes with several tiers to choose from. At the top end is a Limited Edition SteelBook, offering a collectible metal case for those looking for something beyond the standard packaging. Above that sits the Collector’s Edition, which pairs its own SteelBook with a custom comic book, a relic card, and a magnetic lenticular cover — a package clearly designed with dedicated fans in mind.

For those after a more traditional release, standard editions will also be available across 4K Blu-ray/Digital, Blu-ray/Digital, and DVD formats, giving buyers flexibility depending on their preferred setup and budget.

A Box Office Success Story

Holland’s success this year isn’t confined to Spider-Man, either. Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey (2026), also still in theaters, has brought in $1.557 billion globally as of publication, a figure that similarly benefits co-stars Zendaya and Bernthal. Between the two films, Holland is having one of the most commercially dominant years of any actor in Hollywood.

Still, Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s hold on the top three won’t go untested. The Russo Brothers’ Avengers: Doomsday (2026) arrives December 18, sharing its release date with Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three (2026), and could shake up the rankings once more before the year is out.

For now, though, Spider-Man: Brand New Day stands as one of 2026’s defining box-office stories, with its climb up the all-time list showing no signs of slowing.
