Nintendo has finally made its way into Walt Disney World Resort — but not in the way many fans might think. After months of mystery construction, a new Bandai Gashapon kiosk has debuted in the EPCOT World Showcase Japan Pavilion, offering collectible capsule toys inspired by some of pop culture’s most beloved characters.
Back in June 2025, construction walls appeared near Katsura Grill in EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion. Walt Disney Imagineering permits filed for the project described it simply as a “Gachapon Kiosk.” Walt Disney World Resort kept quiet about the development, even as the walls grew to cover more ground in July. By August, the Garden House sake stand was closed, adding to speculation about what exactly was happening in the area.

This week, the walls came down to reveal the brand-new Bandai Gashapon kiosk. “Gashapon” is Bandai’s official trademark of the word “gachapon,” which refers to capsule toy vending machines found throughout Japan. Popular in Japanese arcades, malls, and train stations, these machines have recently gained popularity in the U.S., and now, they’ve arrived at Walt Disney World Resort.
Guests at EPCOT can now purchase collectible capsules for between $9 and $15 each. Payments can only be made by card, and once a machine is selected, Disney Park guests crank the handle to dispense a capsule toy.

According to WDWNT, the kiosk currently features officially licensed toys from several popular franchises, including Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Sanrio, Chainsaw Man, and SpyxFamily. The lineup is expected to change throughout the year, making each EPCOT visit a new surprise for collectors.
The nearby Garden House sake kiosk remains shuttered. EPCOT directs guests to the nearby Mitsukoshi Department Store, where a sake bar continues to operate.
