Oga’s Cantina, nestled in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, is one of the most sought-after dining experiences at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. With reservations often disappearing seconds after opening, months in advance, it’s clear that the bar’s galactic-themed drinks and ambiance make it a must-visit for Disney Parks fans. However, for one guest, a simple trip to the restroom turned into a frustrating ordeal.

Reddit user u/Sleepy_Muppet_fan shared their family’s disappointing experience at Oga’s Cantina in Disneyland Park. According to the post, the guest’s sister was directed to the nearest restroom outside the Cantina by a Disney cast member, only to be refused entry upon returning.

“A cast member that worked in the cantina guided her to one near the cantina while she was having a drink and while we were at our tables,” the Disney Park guest explained. “When she came back, they refused to allow her to go back into the Cantina and sit with us. She explained to them that our family was already seated and drinking in there but they didn’t believe her. They told her to ‘wait in line’ like everyone else.”

The sister’s attempts to find the original cast member who had guided her to the restroom were unsuccessful. Left stranded without her wallet or phone, which she had left at the table, she eventually had to sneak back in when Disney cast members weren’t looking.

“To top it all off, the cast members who wouldn’t let her in were talking bad about my sister while she was standing there, trying to figure things out,” the guest added. “…Overall, I’m very disappointed with the cast members that work there. They should’ve walked with her into the Cantina.”

Disney Parks Fans Share Similar Experiences

Other Disney Parks fans were quick to share their frustrations with Oga’s Cantina, specifically the cast members’ behavior. Redditor u/Nap_n_fap recalled feeling rushed during their visit: “One time the server brought my first round of drinks and was super rude saying we were over time and I said we just got there and she wasn’t having it. I even showed her the actual text message and she still wasn’t having it.”

“We had a great time our first visit, then last January it was pretty much what everyone else is describing,” u/Defiant-Noodle-1794 replied. “We made a reservation, were told they couldn’t seat us and waited past out time, then one we were seated we were squeezed in with a large family party, and then another party of 4 on our other side. Everyone was uncomfortable. Took them 30 min to send out our order and by then we were told our time was up and we needed to pay, then lost our card and had to wait for it.”

Walt Disney World Resort fans said the issues extended to the Disney’s Hollywood Studios location.

“Bartender acted like he didn’t want to be there and that we were bothering him when we placed our order,” u/Illustrious_Gene_774 wrote.

Meanwhile, u/Pass-O-Guava described their husband’s disappointing experience: “He was just so looking forward to all of the Star Wars things…especially having a drink at Oga’s. Bartender was just a freaking ass, seating hosts not much better.”

A Divisive Experience

While some guests rave about the immersive atmosphere of Oga’s Cantina, others have found the experience underwhelming due to rushed service, limited seating, and time constraints. Many Disney Parks fans feel it’s a “one-and-done” experience.

“My wife was excited to get a reservation and we ended up leaving after 20 minutes,” said u/Rythmalist. “Terrible experience, top to bottom.”

Another guest, u/LeonaLulu, shared a similar sentiment: “This was such a one and done for us. We were told they had no booths available, despite every single booth being open. My kids were sick of standing, and not a single booth was sat during our time there.”
