With Only One Month Left of 2022, Disney Is Running Out of Time to Keep This Promise From 2021

When it comes to taking a Disney vacation at Walt Disney World Resort, the parking trams are an integral part of the Guest experience.

At the beginning of the day spent at a Disney Park, the parking trams are an exciting way to enhance the anticipation as they bring you closer to the Park entrance. Many Guests like to think of the parking tram as the ‘first ride’ they experience during their Disney vacation.

But at the end of the day, when everyone is exhausted both physically and mentally, the parking trams are a miraculous way for Guests to return to their cars without any more walking.

Understandably, the parking trams are important to Guests. However, this classic Disney transportation system is still missing for EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

The parking trams were initially removed when Walt Disney World Resort reopened in 2020, as they were incompatible with social distancing and other COVID-19 precautions.

At the end of 2021, on December 2, the official Disney Parks Twitter account posted a video promising the return of the beloved parking trams across Walt Disney World in 2022.

Nearly an entire year later, Disney has yet to follow through on this promise to Guests visiting Walt Disney World.

Although Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom have had parking trams reinstated in each Park’s parking lot, Guests visiting Hollywood Studios and EPCOT still have to walk.

The official Walt Disney World Resort website used to include a statement that read,

Courtesy trams have returned to Magic Kingdom park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park, and they’ll return to other Walt Disney World theme parks throughout 2022. Where available, this convenient mode of transportation will whisk Guests from the theme park’s parking lot to its Main Entrance and back.

However, that message has quietly vanished. With only one month left out of the year, it seems that Disney has missed their own deadline and will not be reinstating parking trams to all Disney Parks “throughout 2022.”
