The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is a foodie’s paradise, but unfortunately one Guest recently had a rather unpleasant and potentially very unsafe experience when trying food from one of the festival booths.
The Brew-Wing booth, located inside the Odyssey pavilion near the end of World Discovery toward World Showcase, offers a variety of chicken wings served up inside with some very comfortable air conditioning.
During a recent trip to the Festival, TikTok user @_jenny__o ordered two different types of chicken wings, only to find that thewings appeared to be raw inside when they were broken open. Take a look at her photos below:
Some commenters on the video were quick to point out that the pink coloring inside the wings was due to their smoking process, but when a food is smoked resulting in a color change, Disney will typically post this information to alert Guests. For instance, Flame Tree Barbecue in Disney’s Animal Kingdom has signage letting Guests know that the restaurant’s ribs are smoked and may appear pink despite being fully cooked.
In the comments of the video @_jenny__o did share the she spoke with management at the booth who provided guest service recovery and that she had not felt sick up to that point. She also pointed out that where the booth was located inside the Odyssey building, the lighting is dimmed and she only noticed the off coloring when she want to take a picture of the wings.
Hopefully this was a one-off experience, and the original poster avoids any kind of foodborne illness resulting from the wings. And, while everything you order from a festival booth, or any restaurant, should certainly be fully cooked before it arrives at your table, this instance serves as a reminder to take a quick look at your food before you eat it.
The full Brew-Wing menu includes:
- Sticky Wings with Peanut Sauce and grape gel with celery and ranch
- Garlic-Parmesan Wings with celery and ranch
- Traditional Buffalo Wings with celery and ranch
