Refund Details for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Cancelled Due to Hurricane Ian

With Hurricane Ian gearing up to hit Central Florida as a Category 4 (and potentially Category 5) storm, the Walt Disney World Resort has joined other local attractions in closing its theme parks through Thursday, September 29, 2022.

Since Disney Parks will remain closed until Friday morning, any events taking place within the Parks during this time are effectively cancelled. This includes the week’s next run of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, that was scheduled for September 29.

With this week’s party cancelled, and with the event, unfortunately, sold out for the remainder of the party dates through October 31, 2022, Guests who had tickets will be issued refunds.

Disney’s official website outlines the refund process, which may vary for Guests based on how they purchased their tickets originally for the seasonal event:

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom has been cancelled for Thursday, Sept. 29. If you purchased Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets for the event on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022 directly from Disney using a credit card, debit card, or Disney Rewards Cards a refund will be automatically processed back to your original form of payment within 7 business days. Please note: refunds may take longer to appear on your statement depending on your financial institution. If you purchased directly from Disney using another method of payment or your purchase included other products, please contact us.

If you purchased a Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ticket from a travel agent, travel wholesaler or other third-party travel seller, please contact your travel seller for further information.

For Guests who would be able to make it to a different date for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, they may be out of luck where the event is sold out. In the event of inclement weather that allows the Party to still take place but severely impacts offerings during the event, Guest Relations has been known to issue rainchecks. But where this Thursday’s event was cancelled altogether and there are no others with openings available, it seems that will not be possible for affected ticketholders.

Tickets are on sale for the next seasonal event at the Magic Kingdom, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and we recommend purchasing yours soon if you are interested in attending. Given how quickly the Halloween parties sold out this year, and the fact that the Christmas parties have already begun to sell out, we expect that the entire event will sell out as well.

We will continue to share updates on the impact of Hurricane Ian at Walt Disney World here on Disney Tips, and will be back with additional information as we have it.
