Registration Opens for Virtual Disney Event

As some of you may or may not be aware, 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company. Disney is hosting a series of theme park events, specialty merchandise, and unique surprises throughout the year to celebrate this one-in-a-lifetime milestone.

Among these experiences is the 2023 runDisney Virtual Series, featuring Mickey Mouse throughout the years. Each virtual event challenges participants on a 5K course (3.1 miles), accommodating experienced sprinters to first-time runners. The three Mickey-themed races are The Steamboat Willie 5K, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice 5K, and The Runaway Railway 5K. Participants are welcome to compete in all three as The Disney 100 Challenge.

Guests who take on all three (the ultimate Disney100 challenge) will earn a special medal featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. The award also doubles as a magnetic to show off your runDisney success.

For those unfamiliar with the runDisney Virtual series, they allow you to participate in a run through the path of your choice as opposed to a live runDisney event at the theme parks. The virtual element also lets runners participate at their own pace in their own time, unlike in-person Walt Disney World marathons.

Registration is officially open, and the virtual runDisney event is open from June 1 to August 31.

Each participant will receive the following:

  • Themed Finisher Medal
  • Digital Bib and Finisher Certificate
  • Digital Race Tool Kit featuring printable mile markers

Happy running, Disney fans!
