For a generation of dedicated fans, no trip to the mall was complete without stepping into the immersive, plush-filled wonderland of a physical Disney retail location. After years of aggressive closures that pushed consumers toward digital shopping and big-box store aisles, The Walt Disney Company is officially bringing the in-person magic back to the local mall.

Opening its doors today, September 3, 2026, the newest brick-and-mortar location is generating massive excitement among shoppers eager to browse exclusive merchandise in person once again.

The highly anticipated new shop officially welcomes its first guests today at 4:00 p.m. Located on Level 1 of the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey, the 2,300-square-foot space has taken over the former PINK storefront nestled comfortably between Clarks and A Sneaker City.

While this location is officially operating as a pop-up store under the “Disney Store Limited Time” banner, it delivers a deeply themed, fully realized shopping experience. Disney has eschewed standard, sterile temporary shelving in favor of vibrant, franchise-dedicated zones. Shoppers can wander through curated sections celebrating classic Disney Princesses, Pixar animation, Marvel superheroes, and Star Wars adventures. The shelves are packed with high-end collectibles, toys, apparel, home goods, and trading pins. In a special nod to the local community, this location even features exclusive t-shirts and tote bags adorned with New Jersey-inspired artwork.

Today’s grand opening on the East Coast builds upon a highly successful retail experiment that kicked off earlier this year. The initial “Disney Store Limited Time” prototype debuted on May 23, 2026, at Ross Park Mall in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. That location drew massive crowds, proving that the nostalgia and consumer demand for physical retail spaces dedicated entirely to the brand remain incredibly strong.

To manage this ambitious rollout, Disney formed a strategic operational partnership with Go! Retail Group, a company widely known for running expansive holiday pop-ups and managing the physical footprint of Toys “R” Us, is seamlessly recreating the interactive, theatrical shopping environments that defined the brand in the 1990s and early 2000s.

For industry analysts and fans alike, this new pop-up store—which will remain open through the 2026 holiday season—feels like high-profile market research. By utilizing short-term leases in major shopping hubs, corporate executives can accurately gauge foot traffic and consumer demand without committing to expensive, long-term real estate contracts.

Operating Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and extending to 9:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, the Paramus location offers a crucial bridge between digital convenience and physical immersion. If today’s opening mirrors the overwhelming success of the Pennsylvania prototype, it could easily pave the way for a broader, nationwide rollout. Ultimately, fans are lobbying for robust sales at these limited-time shops to convince The Walt Disney Company to re-establish a permanent brick-and-mortar footprint. Until then, shoppers stepping through the doors today get to enjoy a highly welcome return to form.
