Visiting Walt Disney World Resort is such a magical experience, but as the theme parks get busier and the lines get longer, some guests can find their vacation more stressful than they were expecting. In order to optimize their days in the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Animal Kingdom, many guests will meticulously plan which rides they will go on and when they will go on them. Some guests spend so much time focusing on the plan that they miss the Disney magic around them.

One way guests can cut down on their wait times and spend more time enjoying everything the theme parks have to offer is by utilizing the Single-Rider Lines. Now, there aren’t a ton of rides at Disney World that currently offer a Single Rider Line, but the ones that do are some of the most popular rides in the parks, and the time guests can save by using those lines can really add up.

The following attractions currently offer a Single Rider option:

  • Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run (Hollywood Studios)
  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith (Hollywood Studios)
  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (Hollywood Studios)
  • Expedition Everest (Animal Kingdom)
  • Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure (EPCOT)

Before its closure, Test Track at EPCOT also offered a Single Rider Line. Hopefully, the line will be back when the ride reopens, which will hopefully be in the late summer.

Recently, guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort noticed that Disney had made a big change to both the wait time boards and the My Disney Experience app.

The wait time boards now indicate which Disney rides have a Single Rider option by putting an “S” next to the ride. Guests can then look at what rides have the same option on the My Disney Experience app.

My Disney Experience also provides more information on the rules about using the Single Rider Line and what guests can expect.

Single Rider is an option that allows groups to split up and embark on select attractions individually.

Attraction signage or a Cast Member can direct you to the designated line, where your party will be separated to fill remaining seats in a ride vehicle that aren’t occupied by Guests utilizing standby lines or Lightning Lane entrances.

Know Before You Go

  • Immediate boarding or choice of seat is not guaranteed.
  • Single Riders must meet all boarding requirements.
  • Special seating requests may not be accommodated.
  • Participating attractions and wait times may vary.
  • This service is subject to availability.

At this time, there aren’t a ton of rides and attractions at Walt Disney World that have a Single Rider option, and it doesn’t appear that the parks will add any more in the near future.

However, Disney is always looking for ways to improve the parks and make things better for guests, so it is possible that more attractions will add a Single Rider line in the future.
