An official investigation has been launched following a tragic accident at Disneyland.

State officials are now investigating the shocking death of a Disneyland employee last week. The employee died after suffering severe injuries to her head while inside the park.
Bonnye Lear, a 60-year-old administrator, was reportedly traveling around Disneyland on a golf cart when she fell and hit her head. The incident occurred on Friday, June 5, in a backstage area of Disneyland Park.
The area is known as Critter Country, which is currently undergoing a massive, large-scale refurbishment as work continues on the park’s upcoming new ride, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The water ride officially opens at Magic Kingdom in Florida this summer, with Disneyland’s opening expected to follow later this year.
As a result, Critter Country and its attractions are covered in construction walls and materials, with paths being closed temporarily.

Lear died from her injuries two days after being taken to a hospital. Per KTLA, this accident is now being officially investigated, with state officials looking into the incident.
Anaheim detectives are investigating the traffic collision as well.
Lear was an administrator of Disneyland’s Club 33. This iconic and exclusive establishment, designed initially as a VIP lounge for Walt Disney himself, has evolved into an incredibly prestigious private club. Club 33 is located above Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.
“We are heartbroken by the loss of Bonnye and offer our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her,” Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock said in a statement. “At this time, we are focused on supporting her family and our cast members through this tragic event and making sure they have the resources they need.”
The resort is mourning the loss of Disney legend Bonnye Lear, who was personally responsible for a large chunk of the magic that was made at the Disneyland theme parks. Her loss will be greatly missed by the fans and cast members who benefitted from her greatness every day.
