The wait is over! Tiana’s Palace is opening today, September 7, at Disneyland Park! We’ve been waiting ages for this new restaurant to take shape, and now the day is finally here. Tiana’s Palace is inspired by Princess Tiana from the hit Disney film The Princess and the Frog (2009). Princess Tiana’s dream of owning her own restaurant with her famous beignets and her father’s delicious gumbo recipe has finally come to fruition.
As we’ve patiently waited for today to arrive, Disney has been generous enough to drop sneak peeks and previews over the months. Guests were able to see the physical appearance come to life in the Park as we saw the building transformed. Additionally, the menu release had us all drooling and further counting down the days until opening. The restaurant offers sit-down and quick service options, making it the perfect stop for any midday or evening bite.
While the menu already screams “make a reservation,” we’ve been given a private tour of the inside of Tiana’s Palace and many of the classic entrees. By private, we mean released on Disney’s YouTube channel for all fans to see. But here are the biggest takeaways from Culinary Director John State’s walkthrough.
Tiana’s Palace Tour
Chef and Culinary Director John State takes fans on a walking tour through Tiana’s Palace, something no one has yet to see prior to opening day! While today is opening day, many of us may not be there to experience the vibrant spirit of New Orleans Square. So Chef John brought it to us!
As he walks through the newly designed restaurant, Disney’s description of Tiana’s Palace truly comes to life. “Step inside this beautiful restaurant that’s a reminiscent slice of the elegant French Quarter,” Disney details, as the walkthrough perfectly portrays it. The blue glass ceiling, photos of Tiana and her family, and even her hat and jacket hanging on the hook by the door are only a few of the details we get to see.
Chef John moves on to the food to give us a visual of all the scrumptious options on the lunch and dinner menu. Starting off with dessert, the classic beignets, then moving on to entrees is the only way to eat at Tiana’s Palace. The walking tour soon becomes mouthwatering with delights like House Gumbo, Gulf Shrimp and Grits, Beef Po-boy Sandwiches, and Muffuletta Sandwiches entering the screen.
A slogan at Tiana’s Palace is “dessert first,” and we can’t disagree. Tiana’s Palace is where the good times roll with Creole and Cajun-inspired cuisine for the whole family. If Disneyland isn’t a stop on your to-do list tomorrow, watch the tour of Tiana’s Palace below to get you amped up for your next visit.
