It’s no secret that the COVID-19 pandemic set some operations back at Walt Disney World Resort. Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, Disney Springs, and all Resort hotels had to close for a handful of months. Construction on every project was set back by months and, in some cases, years.

However, attractions weren’t the only aspects of operations at Disney Parks that were slowed down; restaurants were also affected. Many Disney Park and Resort hotel restaurants were altered, with character dining experiences being ‘temporarily unavailable.’ As for Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ restaurant in Hollywood Studios, construction was slowed down significantly, just like the Walt Disney World Railroad and TRON Lightcycle Run.

Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ was announced years ago, in 2019. Due to the pandemic, the restaurant’s opening date was pushed back to 2022. Now that 2022 has come and passed, Guests and Disney fans have noticed that the restaurant is still yet to open. However, in late 2022, Disney released a new opening date for Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ: Spring 2023 (the same opening timeframe for TRON Lightcycle Run).
