These Are the Disney World Attractions Themed Around Disney Princesses

Rides and Attractions With Disney Princesses Feature Image

It cannot be denied that Disney Princesses play many significant roles in Disney theme parks worldwide. From making appearances in various parade processions to engaging fans through beloved Character Meet and Greet opportunities, from visiting each and every table in restaurants during select Character Dining engagements to even serving as the inspiration for certain Resort rooms and themed motifs, it goes without saying that Disney Princesses are pretty popular. And in addition to all the aforementioned ways the Princesses make their presence known, several are even featured throughout various themed attractions and entertainment.

The Disney Princess incorporations vary throughout the different Disney Park locations around the globe. Yet, when you look at Walt Disney World Resort in particular, it may be somewhat surprising and enlightening to realize just how many attractions here are themed around Disney Princesses.

Cinderella Castle Breezeway

This may very well be one of the most underrated attractions in all of Magic Kingdom Park. While not a ride or stage show entertainment, it is more or less an unassuming stroll straight through the iconic Cinderella Castle. But in doing so, you get to pass by five stunning mosaic walls featuring scenes that depict the classic Cinderella story. Designed by renowned Imagineer Dorothea Redmond, each of the five mosaics comprising the Cinderella Castle Breezeway sports hundreds of thousands of different colored glass pieces, fused together meticulously with gold and silver.

Prince Charming’s Regal Carrousel

In continuing the trend for highlighting Cinderella-minded attractions throughout Magic Kingdom Park, you can’t overlook Prince Charming’s Regal Carrousel. And coincidentally enough, the historical ride that was initially built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company in 1917 was previously known as Cinderella’s Golden Carousel. The name change came about in 2010 in an attempt to continue the Cinderella storyline following the titular character and her prince’s happily ever after.

While not one of the Park’s more popular attractions, it is still an iconic rite of passage for many visitors to pursue at least once. Let it be known, however, that the carousel is pretty standard, although keep an eye out for Cinderella’s horse!

Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid

If you love Ariel and Disney’s The Little Mermaid, then you can’t miss this gently moving dark ride, based within Fantasyland of Magic Kingdom Park. A whimsical ride-through that any fan of Disney’s “fishiest” Princess can rightfully enjoy, Guests pass by a series of highlighted, recreated scenes inspired by the beloved animated classic film from 1989. With immersive special effects, hand-drawn animation sequences, and impressive animatronic components all coming together for the ultimate undersea adventure, this attraction allows you to relive some of your favorite iconic moments from the original in an all-new way.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

On location at Magic Kingdom Park, this popular roller coaster is more so themed around the beloved titular supporting cast of the first full-length animated feature film by Walt Disney Productions—Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs from 1937. But it cannot be denied that it is still a Disney Princess-minded attraction. In fact, you even get to catch a glimpse of Snow White herself at the very end, dancing in the little cottage. So, if you love Snow White, this is definitely an experience that you need to add to your list of must-dos.

Enchanted Tales with Belle

Another attraction based in Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park, Enchanted Tales with Belle offers fans of Disney’s animated classic film Beauty and the Beast from 1991 a unique, interactive, and engaging experience. Neither a ride nor is it a stage production, it is an immersive event in which some Guests even get to play active roles in the retelling of that iconic tale as old as time. The experience allows you to venture inside the recreated quarters of Belle and Maurice’s cottage, tour Maurice’s workshop, and interact directly with Belle herself. Along the way, you’ll get to see many intricately recreated articles, items, and other components that any Beauty and the Beast fan can rightfully appreciate.

For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration

It cannot be denied that when Disney’s Frozen premiered in 2013, it set an all-new precedent and renewed interest in Disney Princesses. In fact, given the fact that it was such a blockbuster hit, a theatrically released sequel even came about in 2019—a definite deviation from all the previous direct-to-video sequels that were traditionally the norm for Disney Princess films before then. And there are even further plans to continue the Frozen franchise in the future.

One of the most significant claims to fame for the Frozen franchise is the collaboration of hit musical numbers that fans of all ages cannot help singing along to. So perhaps that is why this theater-based attraction is such a gem to take in. Also, based in Hollywood Studios, here’s an all-new spin on the Frozen saga, presented by the Royal Historians of Arendelle, as they relate the frosty story we all know and love so well, with some of our favorite characters from the film(s) making appearances and leading the audience in song (with lyrics displayed for all to join in and sing along to). Special effects and scenic components are even included, making this a can’t-miss pursuit for all Frozen fanatics.

Frozen Ever After

Disney’s Hollywood Studios isn’t the only place to enjoy Frozen follies. As it is well-known by now, several years ago, EPCOT replaced one of its former, longstanding dark ride water-based attractions, Maelstrom, with a Frozen overlay that transformed it into Frozen Ever After. As I mentioned previously, the ride has been given a Frozen revamping, replacing many of the former props and animatronics with classic characters from the Frozen franchise. It is still essentially the same track, and you are still riding along in the same boats, but the theme, which follows the events that occurred after the first film’s conclusion, offers an all-new spin that any ultimate fan can appreciate.

While these are all the currently existing rides and attractions showcasing Disney Princesses in some capacity, we Disney fans have the promise of even more to come. We already know of at least one new attraction currently being developed, inspired by the film Moana from 2016. The new Journey of Water attraction is slated to open on the scene in EPCOT later this year. The titular heroine’s presence will also soon be added to Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s Meet and Greets lineup. Additional inclusions at this Park were teased last year during the Blue Sky presentation of the D23 Expo, but nothing concrete has been revealed.

Then, there is also that massive transformation taking place on existing Splash Mountain attractions—transforming them all into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, inspired by Disney’s The Princess and the Frog from 2009. This is expected to premier by the end of 2024.

All these irons in the fire clearly denote that Disney’s intentions for crafting even more Princess inclusions in the way of rides, attractions, and entertainment are both ongoing and eminent.
