U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Flyover Planned Over Walt Disney World

The Walt Disney World Resort has a longstanding history of supporting members of the military and their families, from daily flag retreats in Magic Kingdom Park to the company’s role in assisting veterans returning to the workforce and so much more.

As part of this ongoing support, the Walt Disney World Resort is set to host a flyover by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds later this week.

The official Walt Disney World Cast & Community Facebook page shared the following announcement on the upcoming U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flyover:

As part of Disney’s enduring respect for those who serve in the military and their families, we are hosting a flyover over Magic Kingdom Park by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flight demonstration team on Thursday, October 27 to mark the arrival of National Veterans and Military Families Month in November. They will do two passes beginning at 9:30 a.m. over the park (weather dependent) culminating in their famous delta maneuver where they pass over the castle accelerating rapidly in different directions giving the appearance of a fireworks display.

The Thunderbirds have attended flyovers over Disney Parks in years past, with the most recent event taking place in October 2020 as a tribute to present service members and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

After the Thunderbirds’ flyover over Magic Kingdom Park this Thursday, October 27, they will make their way to the Orlando Air & Space Show, which takes place on October 29 and 30, 2022.

As Disney’s initial announcement notes, the flyover is weather dependent, but if you are planning on visiting the Magic Kingdom this Thursday you’ll want to ensure that you are outside when the flyover is scheduled to take place. Seeing this historic flyover firsthand is an exciting addition to any Disney vacation, as well as a touching tribute to our nation’s service members that few can say they’ve experienced in person.

If you are interested in seeing the Thunderbirds as well as other historic aircraft at the Orlando Air & Space Show later this week, information on ticketing and schedules is available online at AirAndSpaceShow.com.
