The Disney Magic is one of the most iconic cruise ships at sea. It signified the birth of Disney Cruise Line in 1998 by bringing the magic of Mickey to the cruising industry. Earlier this year, Disney’s iconic ship was dry-docked for three weeks in Freeport, The Bahamas.

While there, it received multiple refurbishments…

Debuting on Disney Magic is the new Soul Cat Lounge, designed to look like Joe Gardner’s favorite spot from Soul (2020). The lounge is located on deck three and transports Guests to a classic New York jazz club. It’s decorated with artwork from Pixar, such as nods to the film, including record labels, concert posters, and portraits of jazz legend Dorothea Williams. Beverages featured in the lounge include Manhattans, martinis, and even mocktails (for those who don’t want or can’t consume alcohol).

4. Environmental Enchantments

The Disney Magic has also been equipped with “shore power technology.” Advancing Disney Cruise Line’s dedication to minimizing environmental impact, this technology allows the ship to “plug in” to the port’s electrical grid, reducing the ship’s emissions when sailing.

About Steven Wilk

Steven has a complicated relationship with Disney. As a child, he visited Walt Disney World every few years with his family. But he never understood why kids his age (and older) were so scared of Snow White or Alien Encounter. He is a former participant of the Disney College Program (left early…long story), and he also previously worked in Children’s publishing, where he adapted multiple Disney movies and TV shows. He has many controversial opinions about Disney…like having a positive view of Michael Eisner, believing Return of the Jedi is superior to The Empire Strikes Back, and that Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge should have never been built (at least not at Hollywood Studios). Every year for the past two decades, Steven has visited either Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani or went on a Disney Cruise. He’s happy to share any and all knowledge of the Disney destinations (and he likes using parenthesis a lot…as well as ellipses…)
