New photos have surfaced online confirming that Disney has added Mirabel Madrigal from Encanto (2021) to nighttime performances of Fantasmic! at this Disney Park. Last night, Mirabel apparently appeared in a scene of the fan-favorite show!

Since Fantasmic’s debut at Disney Parks back in the 1990s, both Disneyland and Walt Disney World have made updates and changes to the show. Fantasmic! is a stunt show and musical performance spectacle which follows Mickey Mouse attempting to overcome the infamous Disney villains invading his enchanting dreamscape.
For example, after reopening from an extended hiatus at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the East Coast version of Fantasmic! included new scenes featuring characters like Moana, Mulan, and Pocahontas. In fact, these new scenes are so popular that the Walt Disney World Resort has created additional showtimes within the performance schedule.

Now, Disneyland’s performance has followed suit by adding the plucky Madrigal heroine into the show. Twitter user Emmanuel Elefante shared images of her recent appearance within the Fantasmic! finale:

You can see Mirabel aboard the Mark Twain Riverboat for the final scene of the nighttime spectacular, in which various Disney characters perform choreography with sparkling ribbon batons. Plus, her ribbon is purple to match the butterfly embroidery on her dress, so cute!
While Mirabel has been meeting Guests at Disney California Adventure since her movie premiered, she debuted at the Walt Disney World Resort only recently. Whether or not this is a permanent change to Disneyland’s Fantasmic! and one we’ll see repeated at Disney’s Hollywood Studios remains to be seen.
