The recently updated Coronado Springs Resort in Disney World is drawing more guests than ever before. Why? Well, those updates made a huge difference, and this hotel is now absolutely fantastic. In fact, we love this new version of Coronado Springs so much, we recommend that everyone give it a try. Here’s why we know you’ll have an excellent time at this excellent Disney Resort.

1. Immersive Theming

The theming at the Coronado Spring Resort features a blend of Spanish, Mexican, and Southwest American cultures. This theme is everywhere you look, making it incredibly immersive—yet without being overwhelming. We love the little touches found throughout the place, and make a point of intentionally noticing the well-thought-out details.

2. New Lobby

The opening of the brand new Gran Destino Tower in Coronado Springs Resort brought with it a brand new lobby and entrance into the resort. The new lobby is two stories high and features an entire wall of gorgeous Spanish-inspired tile art. The light fixtures are fun and interesting to look at, and the large seating area is fantastic. As for the old lobby area, it is now being used to offer weary guests a place to relax. Colorful seating areas have been added, as have charging ports. The murals and other themed details remain, meaning there is plenty to look at as you relax in the area.

3. Updated Rooms

In addition to an entire new tower, this resort is also home to completely renovated rooms. The remodel added new raised beds, giving guests an awesome place to store luggage. The carpet was pulled out, and the new hard floors look and feel very clean. New bathroom cabinets and sinks were added, as were new entertainment centers and TVs. The room remodels give each room a lovely, clean look and help the rooms feel more spacious. These guest rooms have always been, in our opinion, some of the most comfortable Moderate Resort rooms on property. The mattresses seem better than most, and the desk area is more usable. The remodel only helped enhance the rooms even more.

4. Amazing Pools

Coronado Springs Resort is home to a few different pools. That said, the Dig Site pool complex is by far the best swimming area in the resort. In fact, we’d even go so far as to say it’s the best Moderate Resort pool out there, and it even makes our top ten list for best pools on Disney property. This amazing swimming area is home to the Lost City of Cibola pool, which features a Mayan pyramid waterfall, as well as a 123-foot jaguar water slide. Disney’s largest hot tub is also found here, as are a kiddie pool, a pool bar, a white sand volleyball court, and more.

5. Yummy Dining

Swimming at the Dig Site is sure to make you work up an appetite. Luckily, there is plenty of amazing dining at Coronado Springs Resort. The new Toledo – Tapas, Steak, and Seafood is our first pick in terms of food at Coronado Springs. This eatery is located in the Gran Destino Tower, and as the name suggests, it features delicious tapas, steaks, and seafood—and all menu items in this Spanish-inspired restaurant are absolutely wonderful. Looking for quick service instead? The colorful El Mercado de Coronado might be just the place for you! Here you can grab international dishes in a relaxed setting. Other great dining options at this resort include Maya Grill, Three Bridges Bar and Grill, and Rix Sports Bar and Grill.

6. Spectacular Views

If you do dine at Toledo – Tapas, Steaks, and Seafood, be sure to check out the incredible view the restaurant offers. Because this eatery is located high in the Gran Destino Tower, you’ll be able to see far and wide across Disney property. In fact, you’ll even be able to watch the nightly shows at both Epcot and Hollywood Studios!

7. Location, Location, Location

We also really like the location of this particular hotel. While it isn’t located right next to any one of the parks, its relatively central location means that no one park is too terribly far away. Hollywood Studios and Epcot are both very short 5–7 minute rides away, and Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom are no more than 10 or 12 minutes away. This is awesome when you’re in a hurry to get to the parks for sure!

8. Awesome Fitness Center

Finally, we must mention the amazing fitness centers at Coronado Springs Resort. The rest of the Moderate Resorts don’t have fitness centers at all, and yet Coronado Springs boasts two fully equipped centers with state-of-the-art equipment. If a good workout is an important part of your daily routine, this is the Moderate Resort for you!
