Disney Parks fans are divided over a video of teenagers loudly singing on a broken Walt Disney World Resort ride that gained traction on social media. The TikTok clip shows the choir students singing acapella around other guests trapped on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the only remaining United States Disney park with its original Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attraction. Walt Disney Studios Park (Disneyland Paris Resort) and Tokyo DisneySea (Tokyo Disney Resort) still operate the iconic Twilight Zone-themed drop ride.

Disneyland Resort transformed its version into Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: BREAKOUT! as part of the Avengers Campus makeover. The contentious retheme opened in 2017 and remains one of the most popular attractions at Disney California Adventure Park.

Walt Disney World Resort fans have worried that the Central Florida Disney park will retheme The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror as part of a noticeable effort to remove third-party intellectual properties (IPs)–The Twilight Zone is owned by CBS.

In 2017, The Great Movie Ride closed forever at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, marking the end of a decades-long contract with Turner Classic Movies. Its replacement, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, opened in 2020.

Despite making vast changes at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including the opening of Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t indicated it will change the Tower of Terror. Walt Disney Imagineers perform regular maintenance on the drop ride, which still thrills thousands of guests daily.

Last week, TikTok user @disneycowgirl.jodys shared a video after getting stuck on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror with some talented teenagers. MAS Vocal acapella choir members performed for fellow riders while they waited for the attraction to restart.

The Disney Park guest was delighted by the Miami-based choir’s performance: “Take me back,” they wrote. “…It was one for the [memories.]”

“I wish I was stuck with them… I love this!” @tsly211 commented.

Other Disney Parks fans weren’t so amused.

“Omg no that’s my worst nightmare,” said @ollierankin91.

“This is absolutely beautiful heavenly singing but also I would totally lose it if I were there,” @jodieroseup replied. “I’d already be overwhelmed and then all the singing noise too.”

This would get on my last nerve. And I’m a choir geek. They sound wonderful though,” @youdontknowmel1 agreed.

It’s unclear what caused this Tower of Terror shutdown. The Walt Disney World Resort ride later reopened and has operated normally.

How would you feel if you were stuck with a choir on a ride at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, or Disney’s Hollywood Studios? Share your opinion with us in the comments.
