Beloved Disney Restaurant to End Table Service Dining This Year

The Walt Disney World Resort is home to hundreds of restaurants with everything from quick-service dining in the theme parks to signature dining at Resorts, and even one AAA 5 Diamond restaurant in the case of Victoria & Albert’s.

With options that truly have something for every taste and budget, there really are plenty of restaurants that Guests are sure to enjoy at Walt Disney World. Still, some locations are fan favorites, and we hate to see them go (or change…drastically.)

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is not only home to some of the most unique accommodations at Walt Disney World, but also some of the most beloved dining experiences, including the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue dinner show and Trail’s End Restaurant. (Don’t worry, Hoop-Dee-Doo is safe!)

Sadly for fans of Trail’s End, however, this popular dining experience is about to change and if you have enjoyed this location’s recent family-style offerings, the next update may be disappointing.

Theme park reporter Scott Gustin recently shared the news that Trail’s End Restaurant will soon be closing for a refurbishment, only this time, the restaurant will reopen for quick-service dining only. Gustin notes that the renovation will bring on a “marketplace concept” but that the table service options that have become quite popular will no longer be available.

The changes, thankfully, are limited to Trail’s End Restaurant, with the other table service restaurant at Fort Wilderness, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue, staying as-is with its iconic family-style dining and entertaining live performances.

Trail’s End Restaurant currently offers family-style dining for breakfast and dinner, with packed skillets featuring scrambled eggs, smoked brisket, breakfast potato casserole, pastries, granola and yogurt, and of course, Mickey waffles, for breakfast, and brisket, smoked chicken, pulled pork, sausage, roasted potatoes, green beans, and corn on the cob, for dinner, along with salads and specialty desserts.

Disney has not yet confirmed a closing date for Trail’s End Restaurant, so we recommend planning to visit soon if you are hoping to experience its current breakfast or dinner options before the changes. We will continue to monitor updates to Walt Disney World restaurants, and will be back with more information as we have it here on Disney Tips.
