Several new attractions and experiences are in the works at Walt Disney World with Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana coming later this year to EPCOT, and TRON Lightcycle / Run preparing to open this spring in the Magic Kingdom.
As work continues to prepare both attractions for Guests, Disney Cast Members are just a couple of days away from their first ride on the new Tomorrowland thrill ride, TRON Lightcycle / Run. And Walt Disney Imagineering has put the finishing touches on the attraction, lending to our first look at the ride’s completed “Upload Conduit.”

As we near the opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run, Disney has shared a look at how the attraction will look fully lit up (and with the ride’s audio track) from the exterior walkway in Tomorrowland. The color scheme coordinates to which team is “entering the grid” on the attraction, and the new lights and sounds are sure to add something entirely unique to the current landscape of Tomorrowland.

According to the Disney Parks Blog, the Upload Conduit is used to create a digital bridge so Guests can enter the Grid. Along with the lighting package, Guests walking under the TRON canopy (or experiencing the ride for themselves!) will hear an audio soundtrack from TRON: Legacy (2010).

TRON Lightcycle Run, a new arrival to Walt Disney World straight from Shanghai Disneyland, is set to open on April 4, 2023. Early previews begin as early as this week for Disney Cast Members, with preview dates for Annual Passholders coming soon.
