Lots of changes are underway at the Magic Kingdom! The flagship theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort recently saw the reopening of the Walt Disney World Railroad and the permanent closure of Splash Mountain to make way for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Next up, changes are coming to Tomorrowland where Disney’s next big thrill ride is set to open this April. As progress moves along on TRON Lightcycle / Run, Disney Imagineers recently took to Instagram to share the latest update.

It has been a long time coming, but Imagineers are finally putting the finishing touches on Tomorrowland’s newest attraction. TRON Lightcycle / Run was originally announced at the 2017 D23 Expo (meaning it has taken longer than to build than the entire Magic Kingdom) but it has been operating at Shanghai Disneyland since the Resort opened in 2016.
The Magic Kingdom version of the attraction is already set to feature more inclusive seating options than its Shanghai counterpart so that more Guests will be able to experience the ride. And when open, the ride’s exit will lead Guests through the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. shop, which also serves as the exit for Space Mountain.

Guests visiting the Magic Kingdom have seen Imagineers, Cast Members, and even Disney executives like Chairman of Parks, Experience, and Products Josh D’Amaro test riding the attraction. And with the recent reopening of the Walt Disney World Railroad Guests have been closer to the new thrill ride than ever before.
Disney’s official description of TRON Lightcycle / Run reads:
