Universal Orlando Resort New Attraction to Open Next Month

After months of waiting, Universal has finally released some exciting news! Fans of Universal Orlando Resort will be pleased to hear a new attraction is set to open at the Park this year. As all major Parks do, Universal Orlando Resort has made many updates over the years by adding attractions to the Parks. The largest update was likely The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, including butter beer and a detailed theme paying homage to the film.

Universal Orlando Resort has released not only an opening date but a quite soon one. The newly created attraction includes the favorite yellow characters, Minions from Despicable Me (2010). The Minions are seemingly taking over the Park with Illumination’s Villian-Con Minion Blast.

Illumination’s Minions Have Taken Over

Universal Orlando confirmed that the opening date of Illumination’s Villian-Con Minion Blast will be August 11. With the opening right around the corner, Guests can look forward to a new attraction, cafe, and more. As Inside the Magic writes, “The attraction is similar to other blaster experiences like Men In Black Alien Attack at Universal Studios and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Walt Disney World, except here, Guests are carried along a path on their own feet.” This means the attraction is a conveyer belt, like what exists in many airports, that moves slowly so Guests can shoot at the targets projected on the screen.

Additionally, Guests can look forward to the dining option, Illumination’s Minion Cafe. “The Minions are hard at work whipping up a variety of tasty dishes – while trying not to bring down the entire restaurant in the process,” Universal details. Other experiences will also include Illumination Theater, Bake My Day bakery, Freeze Ray Pops, Pop-A-Nana, Connected Gameplay, and shopping at various spots.
