8. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

This is one of the most luxurious resorts on property.  The buildings and décor are all in white for a perfect pristine feel.  The wedding pavilion and largest spa at Walt Disney World are also onsite for guests to enjoy.  The monorail comes to the resort so guests can quickly get to the Magic Kingdom and other resort on the monorail track. The resort is also home to some of the finest dining locations on property, too, including Victoria & Albert’s.  This resort really does have it all with multiple shopping locations, a hair salon, tea experiences and even a dance with Cinderella and her prince in the main lobby.

7. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

If you want to escape to the feeling of being in a tropical paradise, then this is definitely the resort for that.  From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with tropical leis and welcomes to the beautiful lobby.  Once you exit the back of the main building you look right at the amazing volcano pool, the lake and the Magic Kingdom in the background.  You can attend a Hawaiian luau, learn to how to hula and enjoy the sights and sounds of “island” life.

6. Disney’s Contemporary Resort

This is one of the first resorts to be built at Walt Disney World.  It has a very unique build story with the rooms added to the unique architecture with a crane when they were already assembled. It is also the only resort on property where the monorail drives completely through the middle of the resort. It is also home to multiple popular dining locations, including the amazing California Grill at the very top of the resort. The resort is also walking distance to the Magic Kingdom so guests don’t have to wait in any transportation lines and can get to and from their quickly.

5. Disney’s Boardwalk Inn

Disney’s Boardwalk is an extremely fun area around Walt Disney World.  The Boardwalk Inn overlooks the Boardwalk area where there is entertainment, restaurants, clubs, shopping and beautiful views.  Guests at the resort can quickly access these areas and have a variety of dining and nightlife at their fingertips. They can also take the boat transportation right to Epcot or Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  Guests may even be able to see firework views if they get in the right location in time for the show!

4. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

This is definitely the resort for guests who want a rustic getaway.  The resort is themed after the Pacific Northwest down to every detail. The architecture of the lobby is unique and you can take the special walking tour on certain days to learn more about what makes it so unique. The beautiful main pool overlooks the lake amongst the trees.  The resort feels almost hidden away to give guests a break from the hustle and bustle of the parks.  It is also often considered the best resort to visit during the Christmas season to see the beautiful decorations and massive tree in the lobby.  This is typically a guest favorite resort and it is easy to see why.  As an extra bonus, you can quickly get to the Magic Kingdom or Fort Wilderness via boat.

3. Disney’s Yacht Club

If you have ever imagined what a New England Yacht Club might feel like, this resort is definitely it.  The resort is decked out in nautical décor with everything perfectly maintained to keep the grounds beautiful.  There are beautiful views overlooking the lake where you can take boat transportation to and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot.  You are also right across from the Boardwalk with a variety of dining and entertainment experiences.  The resort is right next to the Beach Club where there is a spa and salon so you can get pampered during your stay.

2. Disney’s Beach Club

The Beach Club is an amazing resort with the best of all of the amenities.  The resort is in close proximity to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Disney’s Boardwalk via boat transportation.  There is a spa and salon on the grounds as well as a pool area that has so many features that is almost like its own mini water park.  The resort is so beautiful and perfectly themed that you almost feel like you really are at the beach.  It is easy to see why it is such a popular resort that keeps guests coming back time and time again.

1. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

This resort is really two resorts in one with Jambo House and Kidani Village both located within the grounds.  It is one of the most unique resorts on property since guests can stay in savanna view rooms where they have views of giraffes and other residents of the savanna.  There is nothing like making a cup of coffee and sitting on the deck to watch these beautiful animals right from your room.  There are also a large variety of activities at the resort for guests to enjoy additional animal encounters, storytellers, dining experiences, tours and more.  The resort is located extremely close to Disney’s Animal Kingdom so you have quick access to the theme park.  The entire resort is inspired by African art and designs after imagineers made trips to Africa to make sure that they got it right.  The resort is a must-see and one of the most beautiful resorts on property.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
