Disneyland Paris Resort visitors could face major travel disruptions in early October as the main French air traffic control union, the SNCTA, has announced plans to strike from “the start of duty on the morning of 7 October until the end of night duty on the morning of the 10 October.”

Potential Flight Cancellations and Delays

The strike threatens to affect thousands of travelers, with many flights to and from Paris potentially cancelled, while countless others could experience significant delays. A similar scenario occurred during the previous major air traffic control strike in July 2025, when tens of thousands of passengers were impacted across Europe, leaving travelers scrambling to adjust their itineraries.

The SNCTA has cited long-standing grievances with the governance of air traffic control in France. The union stated: “For several years, the governance of air traffic control has been characterised by mistrust, punitive practices, and brutal managerial methods.” The announcement highlights ongoing tensions between controllers and management, with staff advocating for changes to working conditions and oversight.

Implications for Disneyland Paris Visitors

For guests planning to visit Disneyland Paris during the strike period, this could mean sudden changes to flight schedules, last-minute cancellations, and disrupted travel plans. Airlines are expected to notify affected passengers directly, but the sheer scale of the strike suggests that a significant number of resort-goers may need to reschedule their trips or consider alternative transport arrangements.

Experts advise travelers to closely monitor communications from their airlines, remain flexible with travel plans, and consider travel insurance that covers strike-related disruptions. Those arriving via Paris airports should also allow extra time and expect potential congestion at terminals as the strike unfolds.

The SNCTA strike underscores how industrial action in key transportation sectors can ripple through tourism-heavy destinations like Disneyland Paris, affecting thousands of international visitors and highlighting the fragility of travel plans during periods of labor unrest.
