The Walt Disney World Resort runs a transportation system more efficient than most U.S. cities, with its fleet made up of buses, monorails, watercraft, the Disney Skyliner, and parking trams. While most of the system has been fully operational following the COVID-19 pandemic for some time now, one piece of the puzzle is still missing with no return date set.

If you have not yet visited Disney World since the end of 2021, you may be wondering what the latest is. As of this writing on May 17, 2023, parking trams have returned to both the Magic Kingdom (at the Transportation & Ticket Center) and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Despite the mention of a 2022 return, both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are still operating without parking trams. These Disney Parks have officially gone over three years without parking trams as they last operated prior to the shutdown in March 2020.

Will parking trams ever return to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios?
We inquired with a Cast Member about the status of parking trams at the two Disney Parks, to which they responded:
Unfortunately, we have no updates in regards to the parking trams for those theme parks.
An earlier planDisney question asked the same, and while the response did not indicate confirmation that the trams will return soon, the panelist did note that signage has gone back up with directions for trams, so it is possible we will learn more soon.
While trams remain unavailable, you may want to consider arriving early if you are driving to these Parks or purchasing preferred parking to shorten your walk to the main entrances. If you are staying at a Disney Resort, you may also find it easier to use Disney’s complimentary transportation for EPCOT and Hollywood Studios rather than driving yourself.
