As of Monday, September 9, 2024, World of Color – One is no longer performing at Disneyland Resort. Inside the Magic first reported that the iconic Disney California Adventure Park nighttime spectacular would undergo refurbishment last month.

World of Color is in its 14th year on Pixar Pier (formerly Paradise Pier) at Disney California Adventure Park. The limited-time “One” version is the first iteration of the show to simultaneously feature Pixar, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Lucasfilm, and Marvel Studios characters.

According to Disneyland Resort’s website, World of Color – One is closed for indefinite refurbishment. Disney Park guests cannot book virtual queue reservations, the World of Color dining package, or the World of Color dessert party.

This isn’t the first time Disneyland Resort has updated World of Color – One. Before closing this week, the show featured an Inside Out 2 (2024) pre-show. In 2023, the nighttime spectacular began with a scene inspired by Elemental (2023). It’s uncertain if the refurbished show will feature a new introduction.

It’s unclear which version of World of Color will return to Disney California Adventure Park. The nighttime spectacular regularly undergoes seasonal overlays, particularly during Halloween and Christmastime, so the show might return as one of those versions.

Disney Parks fans on social media hoped that the original World of Color would return after this refurbishment period. Redditor  u/DodgerBlueRobert1 wrote:

“Hopefully they bring back the normal WoC after this refurb. Wasn’t really a fan of WoC One. Saw it once, thought it was meh. The regular version is much better.”

Disneyland Park still offers nighttime entertainment on select nights. View performance times for Fantasmic! and the current Sleeping Beauty Castle fireworks show, Halloween Screams, on Disneyland Resort’s official app or website.
