10 Best Desserts at Walt Disney World’s Epcot

We love Walt Disney World’s Epcot!  We could happily while away hours strolling through the Worlds Showcase and Future World, and of course, eating is one of our favorite things to do there.  And because the best part of any meal is dessert, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite ten desserts in Epcot.  You’ve probably heard of some of them, but we’ve included a few surprises, too.  Happy eating!

10. Caramel Pecan Bar

We wouldn’t say no to any of the tasty caramel treats at Karamell-Kuche.  But rising above the rest, and deserving a spot in the top 10 desserts at Epcot, is the Caramel Pecan Bar.  It has a shortbread cookie crust under a thick layer of gooey, chewy caramel, topped with pecans, and a hint of salt to balance out the sweetness.  It’s heavenly, and you’ll be glad you waited line once you take a bite – we guarantee it.

9. School Bread

Though it’s personally not our favorite dessert in Epcot, the School Bread from Norway’s Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe is so popular among Walt Disney World guests that it deserves a mention here!  It’s a vanilla cream-filled sweet bun topped with toasted coconut, and more yummy cream.  You’ll want to try it at least once, if only to see what all the fuss is about!

8. Sticky Toffee Pudding

Hiding in the unassuming Rose and Crown Dining Room in the UK pavilion at Epcot is one of our favorite deserts: Sticky Toffee Pudding.  It’s a hearty mix of bundt cake and sticky, deliciously rich butter-rum sauce with warm vanilla custard.  Happily, you can indulge in this winner whether you dine for lunch or dinner!

7. Whoopie Pie

While we tend to associate amazing Epcot desserts with the Worlds Showcase, there are some desserts you won’t want to miss in the other half of the park, Future World. If you’re grabbing a bite to eat at the quick service restaurant Sunshine Seasons, make sure you finish your meal with the Whoopie Pie.  It’s cream cheese goodness sandwiched between two red velvet cakes, covered in chocolate chips, and it’s all yum!

6. Mini Churros

There’s just something so comforting about warm, bite-sized churros covered in sugared cinnamon and dipped in gooey caramel sauce!  Churros are always a great on-the-go snack, and the ones in Walt Disney World are especially delicious.  You can find them at La Cantina de San Angel in Mexico.

5. Kakigōri

Many of the items on this list are appealing because they’re not only delicious, but a great way to cool off on a hot Orlando day. Enter Kakigōri, the delicious shaved ice treat at Kabuki Cafe in the Japanese pavilion.  You have your choice of several delicious flavors (including rainbow, strawberry, melon, cherry and tangerine), and we can’t think of a more refreshingly delicious way to beat the heat in Epcot!

4. Artisanal Ice Cream

Another perfect sweet treat to cool you down can be found at the France pavilion.  L’Artisan des Glaces is a small shop serving up loads of fantastic, unique ice cream flavors that you just can’t get anywhere else on property.  We love the coco-white chocolate, cinnamon with caramelized apple and crumble crunch, and milk chocolate orange – but more traditional flavors are also available for those with less adventurous palates.  You can also treat yourself to an ice cream martini.  Now if that’s not refreshing, we don’t know what is!

3. Macarons

And because you just can’t beat the desserts in Epcot’s France, this pavilion has two entries!  The macarons (sweet, meringue-based delicacies not to be confused with the very different coconut macaroon!) here are our absolute favorite.  We love the Macarons Collection at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie, because it lets you sample several mouth-watering flavors without having to choose just one.  Once you’re hooked on France’s macarons, you can even go back to L’Artisan des Glaces to try some more ice cream sandwiched between – you guessed it – a macaron.

2. Baklava

Mmmmm, honey and nuts wrapped up in flaky pastry sheets – we love baklava.  And Epcot’s Morocco pavilion is the perfect place to sample this sweet treat!  We’ve found it at the pastry counter at Tangierine Cafe, or order assorted baklavas in the Moroccan Symphony to finish off your meal at Restaurant Marrakesh.

1. Baileys and Jack Daniel’s Mousse

Finally, for a dessert with a decidedly adult flair, head to Coral Reef Restaurant.  If you can tear yourself away from the panoramic views of aquarium sealife swimming by, order the Baileys and Jack Daniel’s Mousse.  It features chocolate ganache and caramel crisp, with a kick!
