10 Best Places to Have Breakfast at Walt Disney World

Nothing is better than waking up in the morning and getting ready to spend the day at Walt Disney World. Before heading over to your first FastPass or getting in line to get a perfect picture with your favorite Disney princess, it’s a good idea to eat breakfast. After all, it’s the most important meal of the day! Whether you want to enjoy a lively character breakfast, sit down for a quiet meal of delicious breakfast favorites, or pick up something convenient at a counter-service location, there are breakfast options to please everyone. An early morning breakfast reservation might mean getting to be in a nearly empty park, which means great picture opportunities. Here are the places that are on my must-do list for a morning meal, and they might end up on your list too!

1. The Crystal Palace

A perennial favorite in the Magic Kingdom, the Crystal Palace is a beautiful spot to enjoy a buffet of American breakfast favorites. The Victorian touches, lush plants, and airy atmosphere make it a great place to fuel up for the day. For an extra touch of fun, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet will visit your table for photos, hugs, and autographs! Don’t forget to try the Puffed French Toast! The Crystal Palace serves up lots of smiles before starting your day at the park.

2. Tusker House

If you’re planning on a day of adventure at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, start with a seat at Donald’s Safari Breakfast at the Tusker House. A delicious buffet is set inside of a colorful safari lodge, and the menu features traditional American breakfast items along with African-inspired specialties, like beef bobotie and fruit chutneys. I love the sweet Jambo Juice and Simba waffles too! Don’t forget to say Hello to Mickey and his friends as they visit your table dressed up in fun safari outfits.

3. Kona Café

If you’re looking for a delicious non-buffet meal, check out the Kona Café at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The only downside to eating here is deciding what to order! The banana-stuffed Tonga Toast is always a guest favorite, as well as the delicious Macadamia Nut pancakes with pineapple sauce and macadamia nut butter. The menu features a variety of great breakfast choices, and don’t forget to order freshly brewed Kona coffee.

4. Be Our Guest

If you want the experience of eating in one of the themed rooms in the magnificent Beast’s castle, but aren’t interested in a dinner reservation, breakfast is a great alternative. This prix-fixe meal features a delicious pastry tray for the table to share, followed by an entrée and beverage. Entrees include breakfast platters, sandwiches, or sweet pastries. It’s still a good idea to make a reservation for breakfast, which only counts as one quick-service meal credit if you are using the Disney Dining Plan.

5. Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo

If you’re preparing for an exciting morning at Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, having breakfast at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo is a great first stop. This quick-service eatery features a hearty breakfast platter, a sweet Mustafarian cinnamon roll, or oatmeal with fresh fruit. It’s fun to order the specialty beverages while you’re here, like the fruity Moof Juice or Sour Sarlacc.

6. Topolino’s Terrace

Visit Disney’s beautiful Riviera Resort and plan to have a delightful breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace, a fantastic European-inspired rooftop restaurant. Breakfast is prix fixe and offers fresh pastries and a variety of tasty entrees, including waffles, steak, salmon, omelets, and many other choices. Guests can enjoy their breakfast in the company of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy as well!

7. Cape May Café

Start your day off right with your favorite Disney friends in a New England-inspired setting at the Cape May Café, located at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. The Beach Bash Breakfast offers sausage, eggs, oatmeal, and many other breakfast dishes, including the fan favorite Mickey waffles! It’s a quick walk to Epcot or Disney’s Hollywood Studios after enjoying your morning meal.

8. Chef Mickey’s

Take the monorail over to Disney’s Contemporary Resort and take a seat at Chef Mickey’s, a lively eatery that offers a delicious breakfast buffet while Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto visit your table. It’s a convenient way to have a great meal and get fun photos with the characters without having to stand in line, and I always love watching the monorails glide in and out overhead while I eat.

9. Wolfgang Puck Express

Before a fun day of shopping at Disney Springs, stop in a Wolfgang Puck Express for a great breakfast. Choose from Breakfast Pizza, French toast, omelets, breakfast sandwiches, and Belgian waffles. You’ll be ready to shop in the Disney Springs Marketplace after such a delicious meal!

10. Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’

I love this laid-back restaurant in Disney Springs for any meal, so breakfast or brunch here is a winner in my book.  Breakfast is offered Southern style, with biscuits, deviled eggs, fried eggs and ham, and fried chicken and doughnuts. Refreshing Mimosas, Bloody Marys, and other cocktails will complement any meal you choose too!

About Melissa Fegely

I have been a professional writer for over 18 years with degrees in Biology and English. I am a lifelong Disney fan and a Disney Vacation Club member of over nine years. Having visited Walt Disney World several times growing up, I really caught the Disney bug after many trips with my husband. Now I am happily addicted to taking our son to Walt Disney World as often as possible and watching him experience the magic and Mickey Bars as he grows up. Traveling to Walt Disney World twice a year, I enjoy attending the Flower and Garden festival held in the spring and strolling around the World Showcase, as well as exploring all of the hidden gems that all four parks have to offer. I love helping my family and friends plan their next Disney trips based on my experiences. I also enjoy reading, swimming, traveling, and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I grew up in Southwestern Pennsylvania, attended Shippensburg University, and current live in suburban Philadelphia with my husband, son, and two cats.
