Part of what makes a Walt Disney World vacation so amazing is the incredible level of detail that exists virtually everywhere on property. Whether guests are exploring the Disney Resorts, Disney Springs, water parks, or theme parks, there are many details that are either subtle or obvious that are designed to transport guests’ imaginations and make them feel fully immersed in the scene around them. Some of these details can be found in architecture, artwork, or even smells, but one way that every attraction brings another detail and level of its story to life is through the actual vehicles that guests ride in. Attraction vehicles are functional in actually transporting guests through movement in addition to serving as another detail that helps to bring the story to life. While every attraction features unique and themed vehicles, some of them are simply so amazing that they cannot be missed. From attraction vehicles that make guests feel as though they are flying to others that are innovative in their technology and theming, there are plenty that are awe worthy. 1. Doom Buggies – Haunted Mansion
One of the most beloved attractions in all of Walt Disney World can be found in the Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square. The Haunted Mansion brings guests on a tour of a home inhabited by nine hundred and ninety nine happy haunts. As guests move throughout the house, they sit in a black attraction vehicle with a rounded shell style top called a Doom Buggy. The Doom Buggy is appropriately black and pivots throughout the experience to point guests’ lines of sight in the correct direction. The Doom Buggies also feature individual speakers that make the disembodied Ghost Host feel as though he is speaking right over guests’ shoulders.
2. Mine Carts – Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
A newer attraction in the Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland is also home to an innovative attraction vehicle that brings the experience to the next level. The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train invites guests to travel around a massive mountain, ultimately visiting the mines where the Dwarfs are hard at work looking for gems. It is totally appropriate that guests ride in a train comprised of mine carts, and each individual cart not only moves around the tack but also simultaneously swings from side to side adding another level of thrill and movement.
3. Magnetic Cars – Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover
A great attraction to enjoy in the Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland also offers guests a chance to relax and take in beautiful aerial views of the land. The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is a highway in the sky that brings guests all throughout Tomorrowland while being mainly powered by clean energy. The bright blue cars that allow guests to sit facing either forwards or backwards are pushed and pulled effortlessly by magnets embedded in the track.

4. Pirate Ships – Peter Pan’s Flight
A classic attraction that many guests love to experience while in the Magic Kingdom whisks them away on a magical journey. Peter Pan’s Flight sprinkles guests with pixie dust and allows them to soar over the skies of London and Neverland in beautiful pirate ships. Each pirate ship is a different color with differently patterned sails and they seamlessly take flight allowing guests to feel as though they are right there up in the clouds with Peter himself.
5. Dumbo – Dumbo the Flying Elephant
An attraction that many guests consider to be a rite of passage in Walt Disney World is located in the Magic Kingdom’s Storybook Circus. Dumb the Flying Elephant invites guests to relive the thrilling moment when Dumbo soars through the sky on an attraction that features two spinners both located above beautiful fountains. Guests fly high above in attraction vehicles that look like Dumbo himself wearing different colored accessories.
6. Honey Pots – The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom is home to another amazing attraction that many guests consider to be a classic. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh brings guests into the Hundred Acre Wood on a very blustery day where Pooh is in search of his favorite honey. Guests experience the attraction in vehicles that are dubbed “Hunny Pots” which can pivot in different directions, seem to float, and bounce along with Tigger.
7. SIM Car – Test Track Presented by Chevrolet
Epcot’s Future World East is home to an attraction that brings incredible technology to the everyday experience of driving. Test Track Presented by Chevrolet has guests enter into the design studio and create their very own SIM cars. After perfecting their designs, guests board a six person SIM car that uploads their design choices before going through a thrilling series of performance tests. Each SIM car reaches speeds of sixty five miles per hour and guests absolutely love enjoying a ride in them.
8. Super Stretch Limos – Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
Sunset Boulevard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to one of the most thrilling attractions in Walt Disney World. The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith has guests enjoy a chance encounter with the band who invites them to a concert across town. Guests get from one location to the other in super stretch limos that launch from zero to sixty in seconds. Each limo features dozens of speakers that blast out Aerosmith tunes while whipping through twists, turns, and inversions.
9. Millennium Falcon – Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run
Also found in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is another thrilling attraction that brings the Star Wars universe to life in the newest land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run has guests board the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy, known as the Millennium Falcon. Soon the Pilots are faced with unexpected thrills as they navigate through the galaxy. Gunners and Engineers also have a role in this six person cockpit. You’ll feel the jerks and turns through what seems like a real galactic experience!
10. Simba One – Kilimanjaro Safaris
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is home to Kilimanjaro Safaris which brings guests into the Harambe Reserve for a one of a kind safari experience. Guests board massive safari vehicles called Simba One and set off into the forests and savannahs of Africa. Bumping along dirt roads and shallow waterways, the safari vehicles provide guests with an open air view of the animals that makes them feel as though they are truly on an authentic safari.
