10. The amazing deluxe accommodations

Wilderness Lodge is a deluxe resort in the Magic Kingdom area of Walt Disney World.  This means that the resort offers among the highest level of accommodations you can get while at Walt Disney World with comfortable beds, a variety of services to make your stay more comfortable, valet parking options, amazing restaurants, beautiful views and so much more.

9. Stays at Copper Creek Cabins

The resort recently opened the Copper Creek Cabins.  There are only 26 cabins at the resort and they sleep up to 8 guests.  The cabins include a kitchen, 2 bedrooms, outdoor seating areas, a plunge pool and amazing views.  If you are lucky enough to stay in one of these fabulous cabins, it will probably be one of the most beautiful stays you can have!

8. Water transportation to Magic Kingdom

Due to the close proximity of the resort to the Magic Kingdom, you don’t just have to depend on buses to get there.  You can take the boat transportation for a more fun way to ride over to the park.  You can also take the boat over to Fort Wilderness to enjoy meals and recreational activities over there.

7. Storybook Dining at Artist Point

Artist Point located within Wilderness Lodge has recently undergone changes… for the better! Guests now have a chance to enjoy a character dining experience called Storybook Dining. Snow White, Dopey and the Evil Queen are waiting to greet dining guests. We are so thrilled with this new character dining experience!

6. Club-level room options

There are club-level room options for guests that want all of the extras.  With club-level, guests have their own check in and concierge area.  They also have a special lobby where there will be food and beverages (including alcoholic beverages) served throughout the day.  Guests with these accommodations also get to use the itinerary planning services to make all of their dining and FastPass+ selections so that they don’t have to worry about a thing.

5. Geyser Point Bar & Grill dining

This waterfront dining location is absolutely beautiful.  This dining location at Wilderness Lodge features tasty food as well as delicious cocktails.  This location is a quick service location where guests can sample burgers and sandwiches while sipping on their favorite drink and enjoying the views.  No reservations are needed so guests can come and go as they please.

4. The holiday decorations

This is one of the most beautiful resorts during the Christmas holiday season.  The rustic feel of the resort is the perfect backdrop for all of the holiday decorations.  There is a multi-story Christmas tree on display in the main lobby, plus a variety of perfectly themed wreaths, garland and lights that transform the entire resort into the perfect Christmas destination.

3. Great Food at Whispering Canyon Cafe

Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge offers a memorable experience and excellent food. While this table service location has recently toned down their silly antics, you can still experience the fun with things like wooden pony rides for the kids and great service.

2. The rustic, private feel of the resort

One of our favorite things about this resort is the overall theme.  It has one of the most relaxing themes of any of the resort with the rustic feel and the beautiful trees, greenery and lake views.  It is so nice to enjoy that relaxed feel after a busy day of walking around the parks.  All of the fireplaces through the resort create a cozy feel and are great places to read or chat about the day with your loved ones.

1. Walt Disney’s train collection

The resort is actually the home to model trains from Walt Disney’s personal collection.  Walt had a backyard one-eighth scale railroad, named the Carolwood Pacific Railroad.  It was located at his house on Carolwood Drive in California.  It is on display in the villas area of Wilderness Lodge for guests to enjoy a little piece of Disney history that fits in perfectly with the theme of the resort.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
