10 Great Lunch Options for Couples at Walt Disney World

When you think of dining out as a couple, chances are you think of a dinner experience. Walt Disney World is full of so many dining experiences, so why not enjoy a nice lunch out together as a couple! Check out these ten restaurants below that will make for a great spot for lunch together.

1. Kona Cafe

For the couple looking to take a quick break from a long day at the Magic Kingdom, a quick hop on the monorail can lead you to Kona Cafe. Located on the monorail level of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, this casual island-inspired dining experience has a varied menu with everything from sandwiches and noodle bowls to some of the best sushi at the Walt Disney World Resort. It’s a nice spot for people watching and grabbing a tropical drink during lunch, and it can be a convenient option for a table service lunch since you can usually get a table without a reservation.

2. Flame Tree Barbecue

In terms of both ambiance and food, Flame Tree Barbecue in Disney’s Animal Kingdom can’t be beat. Disney fans routinely praise this location for being one of the best quick service restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort. It’s dry-rubbed ribs, sandwiches, and salads, along with delicious sides (like pulled pork cheese fries!) make this a foodie’s paradise. Moreover, it’s also got one of the most picturesque outdoor seating areas, with brightly painted decor themed to the Discovery Island area of the park and views of the lake and Expedition Everest.

3. BaseLine Taphouse

Love craft brews? BaseLine Taphouse in Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a nice selection of craft beer served alongside sharing plates like charcuterie boards and oversized pretzels. Beer is the focal point here, but this location also has a small wine list and a selection of mixed drinks. For lunch purposes though, let’s focus on those snacks. The charcuterie board is an excellent value for all of the meats, cheeses, breads, and spreads included, and the pretzel is especially shareable for a relaxing lunch in the park.

4. Garden View Tea Room

One of the most unique ‘lunch’ experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort can be found at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. The Garden View Tea Room serves traditional afternoon tea complete with finger sandwiches, scones, sweets, and a pot of tea. It’s relaxing and upscale without being over the top (or as expensive as a signature dining experience– the lowest ‘tier’ costs less than $40 per person). If you want to add to the experience, you also have the option of adding fruit and cheese plates, champagne, or caviar. 

5. Casey’s Corner

Casey’s Corner is the most classic lunch spot in the Magic Kingdom. If you’re planning a day-date to the park and you want the complete experience, hot dogs at Casey’s are the way to go. It’s truly a classic Main Street meal with baseball theming and the flexibility to eat while you’re on the go to your next ride or while you’re camping out waiting for the parade. If you’re looking to split a meal too you can always order one foot-long hot dog and cut it in half.

6. Hollywood Brown Derby

For a signature dining experience, book a reservation at the Hollywood Brown Derby in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This restaurant is based on the original location of the same name in Hollywood, where the cobb salad was invented. It’s an excellent couples spot because you can enjoy a signature-quality meal without a dress code, during lunch in the middle of the park. For an even more magical experience, use this to take advantage of the dinner package and enjoy reserved seating later at Fantasmic.

7. The Boathouse

The Boathouse in Disney Springs is one of the best couple’s dining spots at the Walt Disney World Resort for a number of reasons: The waterfront views are not to be missed, and the menu features the freshest seafood around. Not in the mood for seafood? The Boathouse also features their own grade of USDA beef that you can only get here, and the menu has something for every price point making it a sensible budget lunch or a special occasion splurge depending on what you’re looking for.

8. Via Napoli

In Epcot, one of the best spots to get lunch as a couple is Via Napoli in the Italy pavilion! Reservations are usually available the day of, and the inside of the restaurant is beautifully themed around Italy’s tradition of brick oven pizzerias. Share a pitcher of some of the best sangria at the Walt Disney World Resort along with a pizza and you have the perfect lunch!

9. Sci-Fi Dine in Theater

Ever wish you could go back in time to the age of drive-in theaters? At Sci-Fi Dine In Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can! Bring your special someone and enjoy retro sci-fi trailers at a table within a classic car. The menu features tasty milkshakes, burgers, sandwiches, salad, and more!

10. The Mara

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the best places to spend a non-park day during your Disney vacation. Walk around to see the animals on the savanna and check out the exhibits and artifacts in the resort’s breathtaking lobby. But don’t leave before getting lunch– The Mara, the resort’s quick service restaurant is one of the best quick service restaurants at the resort, with everything from falafel pitas to bbq flatbreads along with traditional African and American dishes. You can even get zebra domes, the popular dessert usually only available for dinner at Boma!
