10. Is there an admission cost and/or do I have to be staying at a Disney resort?

There is no admission cost to visit Disney’s BoardWalk!  Some guests think that this area and Disney Springs are connected and/or the same, but this is a completely different area for guests to check out.  Guests also do not have to be staying at a Disney resort in order to visit Disney’s BoardWalk, so definitely add this one to your list no matter where you are staying!

9. How do I get to Disney’s BoardWalk?

Disney’s BoardWalk is accessible multiple ways!  Guests can drive there for themselves, park and then enter the area.  They can also take bus transportation to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and then head to the BoardWalk from there.  There is also boat transportation available from resorts in the area as well as from Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the World Showcase entrance/exit to Epcot.

8. What resorts are close to Disney’s BoardWalk?

If you stay at a resort close to Disney’s BoardWalk, then you have the opportunity to take advantage of the water taxi or a quick walk to get there.  Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts are right across the water from Disney’s BoardWalk Inn.  Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Hotels are also right next to the area, too!  The Swan & Dolphin are not owned and operated by Walt Disney World, but guests there still receive many of the Disney perks, plus close proximity to the action.

7.  What all can you do there?

Disney’s BoardWalk is a fun place to walk around and explore.  We like to visit when we are looking to relax a little bit and escape some of the other hustle and bustle.  There are dining, treats and shopping options found there.  There are also a few entertainment options, plus amazing night life if you are looking to check out the offerings late into the evening.

6.  What entertainment is there?

One of the popular things to do while at Disney’s BoardWalk is to rent a surrey bike to bike around the area.  It is a lot of fun for the whole family!  There are also places to have your caricature done, street performers and lots of great spots for photo opportunities.  The evening is a whole different experience with different night clubs for adults to relax and enjoy beverages, music and entertainment.

5. Are the dining locations worth a visit?

Definitely!  There are a few great options at Disney’s BoardWalk.  If you are looking for a sweet treat, then you will definitely want to check out Ample Hills Creamery for some of the most amazing ice cream on property.  There are walk up stands where you can get funnel cake, pizza, margaritas, etc.  Trattoria al Forno is a great dining spot and it features one of our favorite character breakfast, because it includes Ariel, Prince Eric, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider!  Flying Fish is one of Disney’s Signature Dining locations, so if you are feeling like dressing up for a night on the town, you definitely want to check out dinner there.  The only working brewery at Walt Disney World, Big River Grille & Brewing Works, is also located in Disney’s BoardWalk.  This is definitely a great place for those of you who like to check out food and beverage offerings!

4.  Is it fun for kids?

Our kids have a great time exploring and looking around.  It isn’t an area that keeps their interest for too long, but is a great place to visit for a slower pace and something different to check out.  The surrey bike rental was definitely a big hit and a favorite for them!

3.  Can I see fireworks from there?

Yes, you can get a great view of fireworks from Disney’s BoardWalk.  You can see the fireworks at Epcot as well as Disney’s Hollywood Studios pretty easily.  If you want the best view of the Epcot fireworks, you will probably want to head over to the first bridge, which is found past ESPN Club.  We love opportunities to watch the fireworks outside of the theme parks since it gives you so much more room to enjoy the experience with your loved ones.

2. What is the nearby attractions/entertainment?

If you are planning your day and want to know what else is in the area, then you are in luck.  Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are only a boat ride away, so you have really easy access there.  Fantasia Gardens & Miniature Golf is also only walking distance away, so you can go and check that out with the family for a little bit of unique Disney entertainment.  Don’t forget to check out some of the lobbies of the nearby resorts since those are great to see, too, especially around the holidays.

1. How late is Disney’s BoardWalk open?

The area typically opens around 8 AM and then stays open until 2 AM.  Not all venues within the area have these hours, but you will be able to find something open in this timeframe.  After around 11 PM the clubs and bars are usually the only venues open at Disney’s BoardWalk

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
