10 Things To See, Do, Explore, And Eat In Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World Resort

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is unique when compared to the other three theme parks in Walt Disney World as it aims to bring guests behind the scenes to make them feel like the stars in their very own Hollywood experience. Guests who spend time in the park can travel into classic films like The Wizard of Oz and Alien, watch big action stunts be pulled off safely, shrink down to the size of a toy, enter into the universes of Star Wars and The Twilight Zone, and rock out with Aerosmith. With so many amazing experiences to be had while enjoying Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests should be sure to make a list of must dos in order to make the most of each moment and see everything that they want to. While all of the experiences in the park are amazing, there are some that are must dos and simply can’t be missed. Here are ten things to see, do, explore, and eat in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

10. The Great Movie Ride –

Right as guests enter into Disney’s Hollywood Studios they are greeted with a massive replica of Gauman’s Chinese Theater at the end of Hollywood Boulevard. The building is home to The Great Movie Ride which brings guests directly into the movies to feel like Hollywood stars. Guests can enjoy scenes from classic Hollywood films including Casablanca, Fantasia, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Alien, and Singing in the Rain. With a live narration and plenty of adventure and action, guests are sure to love The Great Movie Ride.

9. Toy Story Mania

Toy Story Mania is by far the most popular attraction in Disney’s Hollywood Studios with wait times easily exceeding two hours on busy days in the park. Guests are invited to shrink down to the size of toys and participate in a series of 3D midway games hosted by Woody, Buzz, and all of the Toy Story characters. Guests love seeing who can score the highest and return time and time again for some healthy competition. In order to save some time that otherwise would be spent waiting on line guests should either book FastPasses for Toy Story Mania or visit first thing in the morning when the parks opens.

8. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror –

Looming at the end of Sunset Boulevard is the ominous Hollywood Tower Hotel which is home to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Guests who are brave enough to experience the attraction learn that long ago five guests were struck by lightning in one of the hotel’s elevators and sent directly to The Twilight Zone. Guests soon find themselves on board an evil service elevator and at the mercy of the tower as they head directly to the same fate as those doomed guests.

7. The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith –

Located right next door to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is an attraction which brings guests into G Force Records where Aerosmith is recording their latest hit. After being invited backstage at a show across town, guests soon find themselves buckled into super stretch limos and speeding across Downtown Los Angeles to make it in time. With several inversions along the way and dozens of speakers blasting music by the band, this rocking experience is a must do in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

6. Star Tours – The Adventure Continues –

Guests who are fans of the Star Wars films should absolutely not miss Star Tours – The Adventure Continues. The attraction brings guests into the universe of the movies and on a series of 3D adventures. Guests will see familiar places and faces including C3P0, Yoda, Darth Vader, and Princes Leia. Guests love returning to the attraction time and time again as each experience is unique thanks to a program that randomizes the scenes in each ride. Guests can visit plenty of times and still enjoy new scenes and adventures!

5. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano –

A great place to stop and enjoy a full service meal in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano on the Streets of America. The restaurant is cozy and inviting and features some interesting décor including hanging garlic and meats and beautiful lights. Guest who dine at Mama Melrose’s can enjoy Italian favorites like Penne alla Vodka with Shrimp, Seafood Arrabbiata, and Chicken Campanelle. Guests should also be sure to save room for delicious dessert options like Cannnolis and Tiramisu!

4. Muppet Vision 3D –

Also found on the Streets of America is a show which brings guests into the zany and entertaining world of the Muppets. Guests are invited into the Muppet laboratories where the spirit of 3D has been discovered. Along the way there are plenty of corny jokes, sight gags, 3D tricks, and general mayhem like only the Muppets can create. Guests should be sure to visit this attraction and dedicate a few minutes to walking around the preshow room and checking out all of the interesting and hilarious props.

3. Voyage of the Little Mermaid –

An amazing live performance that should not be missed in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. The show tells the classic tale of Ariel and how she fell in love with Prince Eric through puppets, animation, live acting, classic songs, and special effects. Guests will love singing along to songs like “Under the Sea” and reliving the classic Disney version of the story.

2. Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular –

It doesn’t matter if you are a Star Wars nerd or not – Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular is the perfect way to close out a night at Hollywood Studios! Watch as the Chinese Theater that holds The Great Movie Ride turns into a huge screen for a 14-minute show full of high-definition projection surrounded by lasers, fire, incredible music and sound effects, and of course – the sky lights up with awesome fireworks! It’s an unforgettable Hollywood Studios moment!

1. Fantasmic! –

No day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is complete without a viewing of Fantasmic! Occurring on select evenings, the show takes place in the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater and invites guests into Mickey’s imagination for a battle between good and evil. The show combines live acting, classic Disney characters and music, special effects, dancing water, projected animation, pyrotechnics, and one giant dragon for an experience that is an absolute must do!
