10 Things We’d Totally Miss If Walt Disney World Didn’t Exist

I don’t even like to think about the possibility that Walt Disney World wouldn’t exist!  There are so many amazing things about Walt Disney World, but if we had to pick the top 10 thing we’d totally miss if Walt Disney World didn’t exist, this list would be them:

10. Mickey Mouse shaped food

There is just something extra magical and delicious about food that is shaped like Mickey.  The Mickey waffles, Mickey Premium Bars, cupcakes with Mickey ears and more. We would definitely miss all of these great favorites.  Of course, we could find ways to make many of these items at home, but it just wouldn’t be the same!

9. The agony of choosing a favorite park

There are four major theme parks at Walt Disney World:  Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.  One of the toughest challenges is to figure out which park is your favorite.  If we didn’t have Walt Disney World, we wouldn’t have to make this choice.  We love having the agony of making the choice, because we love how awesome each of the theme parks are.

8. Selecting the perfect Mickey hat

There are so many different fun hats to choose from at Walt Disney World.  There are the Mickey ear caps that are decorated in a variety of styles and colors as well as ones that are themed after other characters and attractions.  It is always fun to select the perfect hat to wear around during your vacation and we would definitely miss checking out the new hat styles year after year.

7. The amazing fireworks shows

The fireworks shows are a staple at Walt Disney World.  Guests come from all over the world to see them.  They are unlike any other show that you will ever see and we can’t imagine a world where we didn’t get to see the fireworks exploding around Cinderella Castle.

6. The cast members

The cast members are a huge part of the Disney experience.  They go out of their way to make magical moments and memories for guests.  They provide a level of service that is unlike the service that you receive from most other customer service-oriented companies and industries.  We hate the thought of not having the cast members around if there were no Disney World.

5. Favorite character meet and greets

There is something extremely special about the first time that you meet Mickey Mouse or one of your favorite Disney characters.  We can’t imagine missing out on those amazing experiences and not having the opportunity to do that.  Knock-off character meet and greets don’t hold a candle to the real thing at Walt Disney World.

4. The World Showcase

The World Showcase is definitely a favorite spot within Walt Disney World.  There are so many great cultural experiences, amazing food and beverages and immersive surroundings as you venture from country to country.  We can’t imagine not having the World Showcase, especially when it is time for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.  Missing out on the pavilions decorated for Christmas and for the Flower & Garden Festival would also be too much to even think about!

3. Amazing rides and shows

There are so many amazing rides and shows throughout all of Walt Disney World. There is so much to do and the experiences are unlike anything that you would experience at any other theme park.  Disney does it so much better than everyone else and has a real knack for creating immersive, magical experiences.  We would completely miss out on that if there were no Walt Disney World. I am definitely not willing to give up The Haunted Mansion!

2. All the Disney acronyms

Over the years, we start to speak with Disney acronyms.  The more familiar you get with Disney, you begin to speak in letters like MNSSHP (Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party), ADR (Advanced Dining Reservation), POTC (Pirated of the Caribbean) or FP+ (FastPass+).   You get to speak in letters rather than using the full words and we’d definitely miss this special language that Disney fans have created.

1. The view of Cinderella Castle on Main Street, U.S.A.

No matter how old I get, looking down Main Street, U.S.A. at Cinderella Castle is still probably my favorite view in all of Walt Disney World.  Cinderella Castle is one of the most iconic symbols for Walt Disney World and all of the amazing Disney magic.  We definitely couldn’t imagine never seeing Cinderella Castle.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
